Yeah, I can hear that conversation going on here... But I am "home alone" (mostly) and don't have those issues. All my devices share the same source, although they have to take what they need (which is fine, as they do so for the times I am not home but on the road with them :)). I can see how in a household with several people and probably a bunch of Windows driven PCs things can get...complicated.

Dragonfire

I don't have a iPod or iPhone...or iPad...and I have no plans to get any of them.  I'll stick with my computer.  Though I would like to get a laptop someday.

Oranges and apples ;)

This is comparable to the other devices, at least to the iPad. FWIW, Apple also has a nice line of notebook computer, they have their price though :(

I always say that the most important aspect for any device purchase is: What do you need it for. I like having the iPod and I needed a phone, so I combined those functions into one device. The iPad is getting used for sofa-surfing and to be on the coffee table; in no way does it replace my main computer. But like I said, I can connect to it and quickly add that "watched event" in DVD Profiler ;) For me, I felt, iPhone and iPad made more sense, as I already converted my main computer to an Apple. Connecting any of these device to a Windows PC may cause more troubles than otherwise.

Has anyone heard from Sophie? She hasn't logged in for three weeks now. I hope everything is alright with her.

Najemikon

She is still on Facebook and doing ok...

I was worried too so I sent her a note through facebook. She's taking break from many online activities to concentrate on getting strong and healthy. She will be back but wants to take a little respite for now.

I may not be online much for a bit...have to take my mom to hospital.  We think it is gallbladder problem, but we don't know.  So no clue what will happen.

Mustrum_Ridcully

Best wishes to your Mom, hope she gets well soon.

kahless

Best wishes from here as well!

I wish your mom the best Marie.

The standard joke is that if a person is "fat, female and forty", doctors automatically think gallbladder. Pain after eating a fatty meal is another common symptom.

If it is her gallbladder, I hope gets the laparoscopic cholecystectomy which is minimally invasive and she will be out in 1 day. There is also much less pain and shorter recovery time.

Let us know what happens and how she is doing.

Wishing your mom a speedy recovery, Marie!

Halo2

Hope your mother is home and recovered quickly Marie.
