Nah! I love cats and dogs both! I'm just allergic to them. But that doesn't stop me from playing with my relative's pets anytime I get the chance!

On a complete other subject ... Well, I was going to vent again about the IDIOTS on the road these days, seeing as today was even WORSE than yesterday (took 2h30m to do a 40km drive, and that's at 8h30 PM, way past rush hour!). But, well, I've had time to cool off, so let's just be :friends: and forget aboot it!  ;D

But I'm still pissed at that van jack-knifing (is that the right word? In french it's "mise en portefeuille" in any case) about 100 meters in front of me!  >:(

Kathy, you live in Buffalo, right? I spent 4 years in Rome, 30 mile east of Syracuse and down track from the snowball express that would come over Lake Erie, hit you and plow over us.

I've also lived in up-state Michigan, 100 miles north of Saginaw and right on Lake Huron. I've also lived in Minot, ND, Denver, CO and Spokane, WA.

I've seen and driven in my share of snow. Don't really have any great stories like Kathy and Sebastien. I've seen my share of idiots though.

Now I live in the Seattle area. We don't get much in the way of snow, but we seem to have a disproportionate number of idiot drivers. You tend to really take your life in your hands if you drive when it is doing anything more than light rain and is colder that 40ºF.

Yep. It's funny though, we don't get as much snow as we used to. I bought a snow blower 5 or 6  years ago and have only used it once. By the time you get everything ready its just easier to shovel. We did get a lot of snow 6-10 inches a couple of days ago but the streets were clear by the next day. Today it's lightly raining and almost all the snow is melted - a North Easterner bah! Hmmm...better put a  :voodoo: on bad weather!

It's interesting that you've stayed in snow-belt areas...do you have something against warm winters?

Due to geographical reasons I'm living on one of the warmest spots in germany (the rhine valley).

Last night winter has finally come to town.

I suspect that it won't get much more than this.

Hey guess what?

Almost a year later.... WITH the winter tyres law official.... and you know what? IT'S EVEN WORSE THAN IT WAS LAST YEAR!!

It's 10:00PM now, and I'm STILL at work, with STILL 2:00 hours or more waiting time just to get to bridges... and I'd not even be at the bridge yet, I still have to get through at least 3 other jams....

I love Quebec! Dec.9th today, first snow was back in OCTOBER, yet, there are STILL people with inappropriate tyres 2 months later!! Not only that, our always delightful government decided that Dec.15th was the mandatory day for snow tyres....

So what happens? Everybody waits for Dec.15th!! ARGHHH!!!  >:(

Yep......some morons will show up at canadian tire at 8:45PM on the 14th to get winter tires.  Why isn't there a law to make intelligence mandatory..........oh no wait.........half the population would be criminals !

Half? Wow! You're a lot more generous than I am!

I'm home by the way, I just arrived. 11:50PM (I left work around 10:35PM) wasn't too bad, but the roads are terribly icy (the snow transmorphed into ice rain) and there were at least 10 cars in the ditch on the way coming here.

There's also a great example of how intelligence is optional to some people.

One of the drivers that had lost control when I passed him, managed to get started again.... and then PASSED ME!! Talk about not learning his lesson!!

At least in the southern part of our province they have an excuse to wait, since the snow happens usually later, but you don't have any excuse here.

Listened today : A girl had always 4 seasons tire on her car today... I live at Chicoutimi and the snow start here usually at the end of november. 4 seasons tires aren't usefull at all here and are very dangerous for everyone on the road... Some people are just stupid  :voodoo:
