So how does this "score" system work.

Hi guys, can't say I use too many forums but something confuses me about this one.

what is the score thing to the left of the screen for? mine has seemed to change even when im not logged on... and some people seem to have high scores?

It's something and nothing. Not much attention really paid to it now, but if you like a post, you can award the poster a point. We used it quite a bit in the early days especially in games we were running, hence some people have decent amounts. Now we like to give welcome points sometimes, so you probably got some when you joined. The couple of spammers we have are earning themselves a few negatives...
