Critter

It's 40C today (104F). I went to the cinema this morning to see Avatar again and escape the heat, it seemed many people had the same idea. I got there before the cinema even opened and there was already a huge line up outside. Was just as busy when I left as well.

Another perfect 70F (21C) & sunny here. And this time I won't forget the  :tease:

Kathy

I'm sooo excited - they are opening the toboggan runs this morning at Chestnut Ridge Park! :yahoo:

And for Rick... :tease:

Dragonfire

It started snowing yesterday around noon and snowed the rest of the day into the night..think it may have stopped a few times, but kept starting up again.  Same thing today...it is snowing again now, though not as heavy.  There has to be a few inches out there.

Critter

It's going to be a nice 34c today (93F). Couldn't have asked for nicer weather on my birthday.

snowcat

Its absolutely freezing here! Snow is still around from a few days ago and looks like it will be for a while, Im hoping to make a snowman tomorrow... Just haven't felt like it over the last few days :/

Rogmeister

I had to go to dialysis today and I worried I might not be able to get there because of our getting more snowfall overnight.  When I was pulling out of my lane, I looked at one of those signs that shows different messages including the temperature and it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit.  Luckily, I got where I had to go with no problems and now I'm home again.  I get to stay home now until Monday.

Dragonfire

It doesn't look too bad out right now.  I have no idea how much more snow we are supposed to get.  I had been going to run some errands yesterday evening and maybe even go to another movie, but that didn't happen.

In the last days we had a little snow too, though not as much as some of you did:

And just when the news were telling me yesterday that your country was at a state of emergency because of the snow... So the news make something big out of nothing? It's really hard to believe

Critter

It's forcast to be a warm 44c tommorow (111F). I might just lock myself up inside and watch movies all day in that type of heat, it's almost too hot to do anything else.

We were supposed to get a snowstorm on Friday. But still nothing (only the snow which had been here for awhile now). But the areas where Karsten and I live are not the only parts of Germany ;)

As Tom said, the area where I live (the Rhine valley) is usually the warmest spot in Germany. It's protected by mountains on the left and right side. There are other regions, especially the plain lands in the north that have been hit pretty hard by storm and snow, often taking the long land road over Russia/Siberia.

Still it's no comparison with the images we get from the US and Canada.

The last really hard winter I can remember was 1986/1987.

Those pictures look similar to my immediate area. Again, like you I cannot represent the rest of the UK, but according to the news, we're A COUNTRY UNDER SIEGE! A FROZEN WASTELAND! ARGH!

:slaphead:

This satellite pic from a couple of days ago is good though...
