OK Karsten, is this possible?

I have many DVD sets of comedy shorts (i.e.) The Three Stooges, The Little Rascals Complete and The Looney Tunes Collections.

Can the program be tweaked to parse multiple IMDB titles into a spreadsheet that features Dividers with titles and production years plus Cast & Crew for each separate short in one master form?

Hope this doesn't sound confusing?  :tomato:

You could use the regular DVD Profiler features for this. Scan one short and paste it into the profile. Then add a Divider. Scan the next short and choose instead of "paste caste" the option "append cast".

Thanks, forgot about the append feature.

One more question...

Can you open the program multiple times and do different scans running in parallel? Or does it screw up the data?

If you're using the cache you can only run one instance at a time. The cache file is kept in memory and written when the program close. So when you open two instances the last program to close would overwrite the changes from the former.

Yeah, I just found that out. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Was trying to parse From the Earth to the Moon and got this error message after about 5 minutes...

Probably IMDb throttling you because you are making too many requests at the same time or in a too short time span.

It does say the connection was forcibly closed at the remote end.

I built what is called a try-catch-block around the whole parsing code. Whenever something goes wrong with the connection the .NET Framework will throw an Exception. I catch it and show the error text it in the message box. There are simply to many unknowns when handling network connections.

The only one I handle is the HTTP 503 error on birth years.

Simply try it again at a later time, it should be gone.

maybe it's possible to accept also: http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt.../ links? ;)
it's not hard for me as a user to change that before scanning, but if CCE would accept akas.imdb... it would be one step less ;)

madacid

why does CCE clear the CCViewer-headshot-folder, when starting a new search? bug or feature? *g*

Feature. Names can change, so the output folder contains the images matching the currently parsed title with the matching names.

I would probably like it too. I downloaded it but can't figure out how to open it or use it! :bag:

Download. Unzip. Start CastCrewEdit2.exe. ;)

Then read the readme.

If questions, return here. ;D

Too many questions - too little time. I like simple downloads or things like cut and paste. I see all that unfamiliar terminology and I... :surrender:

DJ Doena

But it is all about download, copy & paste! ;)

That may be so but when I open the first box all this data comes up and I have no idea what it is or if that is even the right place to start. The next couple of boxes I open says that Windows can not open that file and do I want my computer to check on line for a solution. At this point I throw in the towel. It is probably a wonderful program but I can probably type in the data faster than it would be to figure it out! :bag:
