I think I'll make it this year to over 1,000 purchase items.

Currently I have
645 movie purchase items (movies + box sets) - resulting in 767 profiles
277 TV show purchase items (everything from TV special to complete series box) - resulting in 1922 profiles
16 Special Interests (mostly documentaries and stand-up shows) - resulting in 16 profiles

Makes 938 (2705 profiles) so far and 3 new are already on their way.

My total says 4948 but it is a lot less because I have added child profiles to keep track of what I watch. It is too much work to figure out how to get an accurate count and I don't really care about statistics.

What scares me is my wish list has grown to 1,038. But I can blame a lot of those to people who post here!

I currently have 76 films on DVD, 2 completed TV series and 5 incomplete TV series.

I count my TV season as one profile. So it give me two numbers :

Total of movies : 1791
Total of profile : 1475

The difference is because I don't give a number to a movie that is part of a boxset (150 of them are from just 3 sets). This way of counting looks more realist to me... It must be also noted that I don't make a distinction in my collection between a commercial dvd, a commercially unavailable bootleg or a VHS conversion of an adult film on dvd-r.

I have a lot of child profiles for discs that are part of tv seasons.  I still have more profiles I want to add too..for some movies part of sets and a few more tv seasons that I want to add discs for.  Who knows when I'll get that done. 
Titles are for movies or a tv show season.

4265 DVD/HD/BR with 400 still in storage and still to add to profiler. (I count boxsets as 1. I go by number of releases).

Also 500+ laserdiscs and thousands of VHS which are kept in storage.

Each movie = 1
Each TV Season = 1 (unless I bought complete series (Buffy, West Wing, O.C., etc), which also equal 1)
Child Profiles for TV = 0
Movie Boxsets = 0
Manual profiles for "collections" = 0
