But I should have known better. The prices are OK, but I failed to realize - until it was too late - that these are the Theatrical Cut Editions and not the Special Editions. Knowing Paramout, I bet you that the SE will be released next year.

Cut differences:
Star Trek II
Star Trek VI

Aren't you breaking with your goal though, to get all the Ultimate Editions...? I understand there will be one for this film next year...?

I'll still get the Ultimate Edition when it comes out.  There is no way I can wait that long to have this movie.  Harry Potter is special for me..I know I'll double dip for it..I already have for the first 6 movies.  And if they go and do some other special editions sometime, I'll probably get them too.  I can't resist Potter.

Oh...and I almost forgot.  Since it is a Blu-ray, it's Jon's fault. ;)

Why you don't buy or rent it as an Instant Video
You will be able to see it and save some money since you will buy the Ultimate Edition and the extras will be probably ported on it anyway

Dragonfire

Instant video..like a download?
I don't like to watch movies on the computer and my tv doesn't do that..I don't even have internet connection for my Playstation 3...no router.

Yes. Sure if you don't like to watch movie on your computer it doesn't worth the trouble... but some TV had an USB port to plug a key (I guess they read directly the files on it ).

It's funny because even if my TV screen is bigger than my computer screen and I continue to watch all my films on my computer. I just watch the Blu-Rays on my TV

Dragonfire

My tv might have some kind of USB thing on it.. I'd have to look in the manual.  But it is nowhere near the computer.

I just like having the DVDs or Blu-rays.  With some movies I manage to wait until the bigger sets are released..I did with Lord of the Rings on Blu..but that could be because I have both versions on DVD.     I never claimed to be logical about this stuff.

No cover art or anything much at this day but it's one of the most expected movie since the dvd technologie did start. I almost gave up the hope to see this one release in my life...

From our good friend of the British Film Institute

You can pre-order it at Amazon.UK and yes the price is way higher than what I usually buy... but I don't care for this one ;D

BTW Jon, Mark Kermode will work on the extras and I know you have a lot of respect for this guy

The BFI titles are marvellous and they are a charitable organisation, so paying that little extra goes right back into preserving film, so I don't mind either. I haven't been in a rush to see this film, but I'm looking forward to the release...

Kermode is the best man for the job when he's got a real drive for a film. It was only his enthusiasm that got William Friedkin to release the new version of The Exorcist.
