GONE 10/10

A perfect Spaced episode. Nothing forced, and just playing off the sit in their sitcom, with at least two sequences only possible in Spaced: fake gunfights and the comic strip representing what Tim's idea of a night out should be. I love their film parodies, but here they prove they have so much invention even when they haven't got something to hold on to.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Just how fit is Sophie from Dark Star? I'd go with... very.

I loved the slo-mo pseudo gunfights.

Gone: 10/10

The "air gun fights" are a hilarious idea. First the way Brian lets himself get into it and then later the surprise how the hold up by the Red Hand Gang is resolved... (great also how they started the show, then flash back to axplain how Tim and Daisy got into that mess). Superb how it's actually Daisy having the idea to have the shoot out with the gang!

...and they top it off by having a great chicken stew

This is one of my favorite episodes.

The end was hilarious. Especially the Chewbacca yawn of Mike

I loved this episode, even though (or especially :hmmmm:) it was quite serious in parts it had lots of little funny one-liners. ...and a cliffhanger ending :o

10/10

Tom

A good last episode for this series. Sadly a third series will never materialize. Damn these short British TV series
But it makes it easier to revisit them regularly.
And we have Shaun and Hot Fuzz now instead which are nice consolations

The last episode is a little short on comedy as it has to wrap up the situation with Marsha and throws in a few other seriouis moments (e.g. Colin leaves, for a while anyway). It is, however, a good end to the series and the final montage leaves us with a warm feeling that all is well.

8/10 (for lack of comedy in a comedy series, sorry)

I haven't watched this again yet for the marathon, but I must call you out on that statement "for lack of comedy in a comedy series". That's the typical British sitcom at its finest. I'm not saying the Spaced finale was perfect, but the balance of pathos against comedy is what makes old school Brit sitcoms the best in the world. Only Fools and Horses had a decent pinch of melancholy, One Foot in the Grave sometimes forgot to be funny altogether, Vicar of Dibley did a fantastic episode for Comic Relief, and then there's The Office which sat itself right on the fence and refused to budge. Gervais did it again in Extras; the ending is an emotional rollercoaster (and brilliant by the way). Finally, I must mention Blackadder. Never a favourite of mine, but the ending was just stunning.

So there.  :tease:

Is this over now?

If so what is next? Hopefully it will be something I have or can get my hands on.  ;D
