The coming days will be rough for me, so if you find some of my posts to be a bit "off" in regards to my usual self, here's the reason...

10 years ago, my Grandmother had an cerebrovascular accident (CVA), which left her with her whole left side paralyzed, and rendered her mute. She could still understand what we told her, but she couldn't speak anymore. She managed to communicate a little with signs, and she was still able to say yes or no, but it was impossible to hold a conversation with her.

Fast forward to last saturday, where she had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital. After several tests and scans, the verdict came in: CVA again. And the evolution of the scans say that she is now completely paralyzed.

The doctors asked the family what we wanted to do. And after some really tough discussions, there was only one thing to do: let her go. She kept "saying" that she was very sad in this state, so it's for the best.

So it is now a matter of days, maybe even hours.

So there you have it. If I seem weird, or even disappear for a few days, that's why.

Oh Sébastien, I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with her and your whole family.

Sorry to hear that Sebastien, my mother grandmother died some years ago too and she was very old and had a lot of health problems. This is certainly not a good time to pass but at least when the person is really ill that's better for them.

All my sympathy and take a break while you go trough this.

Good luck, Sébastien. It sounds like you have a strong family and your Grandmother has much to be proud of. Take your time and let off steam here whenever you want to.

I am sorry to hear this.

A few months back I lost my grandfather who was like a father to me since I never had a father. His condition worsened over a few years but the last weeks he hardly recognized anyone anymore. I think at some point it's better to let people go.

Yeah. It's hard, but it is more often than not for the best.
