You should grade your seasons or something, so we (i) know what you think about the shows, and if they are something i just buy or not.. ;)

I'm not really good at grading stuff, especially in relation to something else. But I love to talk about certain aspects. So if you have any questions to any show and how I think it relates to other shows ("if you like this then you like that") then sure, I can do that :)

Hehe, cool. I'll keep that in mind. I see that you have watched a few episodes of SWAT and Seal lately, whats the verdict so far? I'm real interested in Seal because i was (is) a huge fan of Bones (the tv-show) and David Boreanaz. Is it any good?

S.W.A.T and SEAL Team are actually very similar in storytelling.

Both start out with a new hotshot joining the team who needs to be groomed to fit fully into the team. Both shows center around the missions they go on at roughly 60% of the story time. The other 40% are dedicated to personal drama of the characters. No love triangles or anything like that, but marriage and divorce stuff and so on.

Despite naturally being older, Boreanaz' new character is less settled in his ways than Booth was. He's still hot-headed sometimes.

S.W.A.T on the other hand also deals with the perception of US police forces by the minority communities, such as racial biases.

I prefer SEAL Team over the other new military show The Brave because the latter one is like a bad 60s Western: The good guys are the noble warriors and everyone else is a scheming bastard who is also highly incompentent. The Brave is very black and white, the characters are cardboard cutouts. SEAL Team is at least a bit more nuanced.

Cool. And i've read that SEAL Team is allready renewed for a season 2. Wich is always a good sign. And SWAT is still up in the air, but they aired at a much letter date, so maby not that weird i guess.
But do you like the two shows? Who do you like best between the two? Do you download, watch'em on netflix or other streaming sites? I dont use netflix or any other streaming deviceses. I like to buy my tv-shows on either dvd or bluray and watch them when i want, and dont have to worry about summer breaks for months etc. I can watch it when i want, and dont have to wait for new episodes.
Would you say (so far) its word buying when they come out?

Personally I like SEAL a bit better. That's mainly because of Boreanaz whom I've know since Angel and I also watched 8 seasons of Bones. But I also like SEAL a bit better because of the rest of the team. A few of the minor characters on both shows don't have much back story yet but I still feel I know those from SEAL better than those from SWAT.

I'm a good ol' fashioned "need to have" kind of guy which is why I'm downloading upon US airing (from not so reputable sources) and then I usually buy it on DVD/BR. But I have to admit that I noticed that I still lack a lot of season DVDs from the 2016/17 season. I usually buy in the Black Friday month from Amazon.com but last year I wasn't so into it and now I have quite a few gaps I eventually need to fill.

As for SEAL and SWAT while they are enjoyable to watch they have not yet reached the "need to have" threshold. They are in the middle realm of "you can watch and enjoy them but if you don't watch them you haven't missed anything either".

In essence: They are US broadcast standard food. Not bad or boring, but not exceptional either.

You can watch SWAT on Viaplay. It's NOK 109 a month, but you get a free trial month, and you can see a lot in a month.

Is that a lot?

When I read that value I have honestly no clue how much this is in relation to Euro or Dollar. And there was this hilarious scene in Star Trek 4 where Kirk goes into an Antiques store and sells an old pair of glasses. When the store owner offers him the money, Kirk asks exactly that question. This is how I felt just now ;)

Hehe, yeah.. Thats about correct €11 as Gunnar said. I might try a free trail, just to check it out. But i dont like to use money on viaplay, netflix, hbo etc. Since i allready use alot of money on movies and tv-shows. As a collector i like to have the fysical movie in my collection, and watch whatever i want whenever i want to without thinking about paying a fee everytime there is something new and interesting on :) but for a free trail, it might be worth checking out, just to see what it is about!

Thanks :D
