Rating Stars
« on: December 02, 2013, 04:58:24 PM »
Hi,

so far we've had (and continue to have) the MR-Tag with a rating from 0 = to 5 = .

Now, thanks to Tom we also have stars, small ones (RSS-Tag) and big (RSB-Tag). They go from 0 to 9 and work in the same way DVDP:

0 = /
1 = /
2 = /
3 = /
...
9 = /

Great  :)
Thanks!

Not relevant for me, but maybe useful for others: Can you add it to the toolbar?

Well... no... I take that back... good.. but I can't say excellent. I have the same complaint about this as I do DVDP... can't have just half a star rating. Which I have needed on several occasions in the past. Guess I will have to stick with what I am using now. :(

But the advantage would be, that you could generate the correct code directly in the html window based on the rating in DVD Profiler.

I could provide also the images for the half star, if Karsten wants to add a 0.5 option in the new tag.

I realize what you are saying. And it breaks my heart to put a review of 1 star when I mean half a star in profiler... but I personally refuse to put one star when I mean half a star on a review.

How about this... make a graphic for half a star that would need to be used from the site here.... then whenever someone means a half a star they can change it themselves on the reviews. This way we can use directly from the html window on MOST occasions... but when needed we have access to a half-star rating for our reviews.

This way it should make everyone happy and can have how we feel completely accurate in our reviews.

As you see I came up with the same idea. Would be the perfect solution.

By the way, here the code to be used in the HTML window for this new tag:

Code: [Select]
<script language="javascript">
    document.writeln("[rsb]" + DP_ReviewFilm + "[/rsb]");
</script>

I have updated my zip-archive to include the half-star images.

Testing Code with the last film I watched...

     Captain America
IMDb |Wikipedia |Trailer/Intro |
The Red Skull defeats Captain America in 1941, but the super her is thrown into suspended animation. Captain America is revived 50 years later to face the Red Skull one more time.

Stars:
Matt Salinger as Steve Rogers and Captain America
Ronny Cox as Tom Kimball
Ned Beatty as Sam Kolawetz
Darren McGavin as General Fleming
Michael Nouri as Lt. Colonel Louis
Scott Paulin as The Red Skull

Extras:
  • Feature Trailers

My Thoughts:
While I have heard about this film... this is the first time I got to see it. I am glad I finally tracked down a copy... as I enjoyed every minute of it. I found it to be just plain fun. Though I would have liked to seen Captain America in his uniform more during the middle of the film... that is just a minor complaint. This is a DVD I borrowed from the library... so I hope to be able to add it to my collection before too long.

My Rating:

Looks good to me...

Now just want Karsten to show up and say we have access to half-star through the code!  :thumbup:

Thanks a lot Tom... I really appreciate it!

 :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
