Amazon.ca is dead to me
« on: November 29, 2015, 07:32:22 PM »
Until recently, Amazon Canada had the same shipping conditions as Amazon.com except for the Canadian money.

Now they are pretty much useless to a Western European.

At Amazon.com you pay a baseline fee of $3.99 for any order and then additionally $2.49 for a DVD (be that DVD a single movie or a whole series box). That makes a reasonable shipping fee of $6.48 if you order only one item.

This used to be the same at Amazon.ca. Now they want $10.99 baseline plus $4.99 per item

A shipping fee of 16 dollars makes any order unviable because if I wanted to pay 11 euros or 8 pounds more, I might as well order directly in Europe.

Thanks for the heads up. I have used Amazon.ca in the past, but will also no longer be doing so; the savings they had provided before would be eaten up by the shipping costs.
