I actually liked Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom.  She always makes me laugh in that movie.  Would you rather see Allison Doody instead?  What kind of name is Doody, anyway?

I haven't even heard of that one ..sorry.

Kate Capshaw grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard in that movie.  She is just whining and screeching too much.

Alison Doody is in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... She is not a particularly active actress.

She have a little classic charm... contrary to Kate Capshaw who have nothing except that she was Steven Spielberg's girlfriend at the time...

But none of them have the charm of Karen Allen, I prefer woman looking like woman I can encounter in real life ;D

Yes, she got this role because she was with Spielberg at the time. But, she was actually quite alright in Ridley Scott's Black Rain. That's the only two movies she is in that I have.

Title: The Hotel New Hampshire
Year: 1984
Director: Tony Richardson
Rating: R
Length: 108 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Mono
Subtitles: French, Spanish

Stars:
Rob Lowe
Jodie Foster
Paul McCrane
Beau Bridges

Jennie Dundas

Plot:
From Academy Award®*-winning director Tony Richardson (Tom Jones) comes this "bright, amusing and provocative" (The Hollywood Reporter) film based on John Irving's best-selling novel. Featuring "a gifted cast" (Los Angeles Herald-Examiner) including Oscar®** winner Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs), Rob Lowe ("The West Wing") and Beau Bridges (The Fabulous Baker Boys), The Hotel New Hampshire is "intriguing" (Boxoffice), "impressive" (Los Angeles Herald-Examiner) and "fascinating" (Variety)!

A motley clan of eight lovable misfits, the Berry family sets out on an adventure to fulfill their father's lifelong aspiration of owning a hotel. Their quest takes them around the world, and they greet every new location with their own brand of outrageous humor, practical jokes and just plain weird eccentricism. But when this tribe of oddballs encounters a healthy dose of heartbreak, they soon must learn that not all in life is fun and games...and that sometimes the only thing you have left is the one thing that matters most...family.

**1991: Best Actress, The Silence of the Lambs, 1988: Best Actress, The Accused

Extras:
Scene Access
Feature Trailers

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever watched this movie. Before putting the movie on I watched the trailer. And going by the trailer I was a little concerned about this one. As it looked like it had equal chances of being good or a God Awful mess. While there was some scenes that peaked my interest... for the most part I really couldn't get into it. I found most of the movie to be basically boring. I just couldn't get into the story.

My Thoughts:
I decided on this movie when I noticed in Profiler that I haven't watched it in 8 years! I should have never let so much time go by watching this one. I forgot just how fun this movie is. I is a great mixture of comedy and adventure. I loved every minute of watching this one again. This is one of those few cases where I couldn't imagine them doing any better on it then what they did. At no point in this one was I bored even in the least. All the actors were great. The kids were a lot of fun to watch. This is definitely one that I would highly recommend.

Since there's only 2 DVDs you haven't seen, this shouldn't be too hard to choose 1.  :tease:

If Manhunter is the one about Hannibal Lecter the chose is easy - you must watch this one.

It is the one... It was given to me within the last few packages friends have sent. A friend of mine told me that it isn't as good as the newer version.... which was it? Red Dragon?

It has been a while since I've seen either but I really liked Manhunter. I don't like to compare but I think I liked this one better.

Thanks Kathy... Will see if I am in the mood for it when I go to watch my next movie! :)

No sense in watching it if I am not in the mood for that type of movie. I never enjoy them when I force myself to watch something.
