My FS DVD List
« on: August 26, 2009, 01:14:38 AM »
Hi all!  After getting in on the ground floor of the DVD revolution in '97 and collecting for a decade I am getting married and must part with most of my collection to move.  In addition to about 800 mundane titles I have assembled a list of those that (afaik) are reasonably rare and unusual these days and should hopefully get more than the standard $2-7 that most titles would used.

I guarantee everything is in near new shape with all original materials.  Most have only been played once or twice.  I would be happy to take a picture of any disk someone is interested in and send it.

Prices are definitely negotiable- I tried to make an estimate based on some quick research of going rates (for legitimate copies!) on Amazon and eBay but I know some may be ambitious or flat wrong.  Also, bulk buys are cheerfully rewarded  :clap:  Remember to allow a little for shipping to be worked out based on your location.  Due to the fact that I'm basically trying to liquidate my collection I'm not looking for any trades, just sales.

Just PM/email me with questions or offers.

Thanks very much and I hope you find some interesting items!!

I would really recommend you look at the 2 following sites if you are going to list prices on your offers.
http://www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk/index.php
http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/

Not wishing to piss on your bonfire, but your price expectations for the standard dvds  are way out of step with prices one could buy these titles new.

A couple of examples of your higher priced standards;
Oingo Boingo The Farewell Concert - $130         -         $13 from dvd pacific
Hanzo The Razor Trilogy - $40                        -          £8.93 delivered from the hut
Buddhist Fist (Tai Seng) - $45                         -         $5.63 from dvd pacific
This Is Spinal Tap - $50                                 -          £4.99 from play
Toscanini: The Maestro - $80                        -           £11.89 from sendit

I have to agree... I personally wouldn't pay no where near those amounts for used DVDs.

Well, like I said, these were coming up as out of print.  If they're not just ignore them.  The one I feel very comfortable in asking a good amount for is Salome.  The Oingo Boingo just sold for a very respectable amount last week on eBay so either something's changed or the one you're looking at is different.  Remember, this is the Criterion version of Spinal Tap which does have some features not available on the MGM version and is still of interest to certain collectors, though not like when it was getting $250 and up!!  The Hong Kong stuff and things like Hanzo are always a gamble.  They're always in and out of print in all kinds of configurations of varying quality so they may indeed not be worth it.  Anyway, those are your decisions to make.  Thanks for looking!
