Yeah, something like that. I have to admit, I've never tried it with foreign domains (read non-dot-de) but the basic principle is this: You are an associate with Amazon and you tag every link with your associate Id. So when someone buys stuff via such a link I get commision. The amount depends on the kind of link, kind of product, kind of ...

Nice.  I hope DVDCOL can generate a few bucks and partially pays for itself.

Probably since we are a strong core of members very attached to this little place and we all buy movies (some more than others). It's not really different to order from Amazon dirrectly or through the forum, so it isn't an annoying form of publicity (you have no idea of what I got in the Vintage Erotica Forum). In fact, just place a pre-order for september and it was the same thing than usually.

Do Play.com let you do similar? I use them a lot at the moment because I'm selling stuff through them as well. Heck, you could all use a link to buy my DVDs and give Karsten a kickback too! Freaky... :-X

OK, that didn't work out as planned. I had to create an affiliate account with every amazon domain seperately. As if I hadn't enough Partner Ids already.

And Amazon seems to be making a sport out of putting the affiliates sub domain somewhere else for every store:

.com https://affiliate-program.amazon.com
.ca https://associates.amazon.ca
.co.uk https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk
.de https://partnernet.amazon.de

Karsten, is there any way, with Amazon.ca, to build a search box that includes your ID in it?

The reason for that is that I added Amazon search as a keyword into my browser. So anytime I want to search Amazon for an item, like I just did for the Anime "Karin", I just type "ama Karin" in my address bar. Now, I'm not going to change that habit, so if it was possible to change the link of my search to automatically include your associate ID, I'd be happy to do it, but I need to know what to change/add/whatever for it to work..

Yay, it's working.

My earnings so far:

Amazon:
EUR 2.16
GBP 3.22
$5.70
CDN$19.79 -> woah!

Deep Discount:
1.43 €

Funny thing is, Amazon.com and .ca will only give me a gift certificate (since I am not from North America) and I've never ordered on Amazon.ca so far, so that's about to change.

Either we've ordered a truckload, or the programs are generous. Either way, I'm glad to know it's working  ;D

CDN$19.79 -> woah!

Don't get too excited, wait 'til you find out how much this CDN$19.79 is worth  :hysterical:

Just kidding.

Should we let you know when we order something? If so, I ordered the Twilight Zone complete series. Hopefully you got credit for it!
