Can anyone tell me what is the rarest DVD,and has anyone ever seen or own it?
-
That depends how you define "rarest". There are some special editions out there limited to 3,000 copies or less. But that only counts for the whole package. The discs inside are often sold as single disc editions, too.

I believe the film Salo (original Criterion Edition) is listed as one of the rarest DVDs of all time.
often reaching well over $500
Of course there is a re-release now so it makes it irrelevant :S

I know of this one that I've ordered at the time, but was cancel before it's released for a question of copyright.

The only copies existing are the screener send to the web reviewers, so maybe less than 50 copy exist actually.
Of course I own it trough the Mario Bava Collection 1, but this unreleased one had a commentary track from Tim Lucas.
