As many of you already know. I have become a very big Sandra Bullock fan over the years. So when I recently discovered that July 26th is her 45th birthday how could I not take the day and watch some of her movies?

Below is my complete Sandra Bullock collection. And I am always looking for more to buy so if you have any suggestions on ones I am missing I would appreciate it very much! Normally I put in bold titles I haven't watched yet. But in this case I have seen all I have already! So I thought I would do my list a little different this time!

As always... if you would like to request a review... feel free. I will do my best. But no promises. Remember... this is a one day marathon so I am limited on time... and there is already a few I am looking forward to re-watching! I am always getting teased that I watch Miss Congeniality too much... so I am not sure if I will watch that one for this marathon yet or not.

Crash. She only has a smaller role in an ensemble cast, but one of her best at that.

Thanks Achim! I am not familiar with that one at all! But Amazon has it fairly cheap... so may be on my next order (depending on money situation and other suggestions).

Pete - hold off for a day or two. I think I might have an extra copy to send you. I have a couple of boxes of DVDs from when my mom moved to Florida and I'm pretty sure this is one of them.

I didn't know today is her birthday. Another reason to watch "Two Weeks Notice" today. When I saw KC's review of "Two Weeks" an hour ago, I suddenly had the urge to watch "Two Weeks Notice".

I would recommend "The Thing Called Loved" for your collection, but as you stated after my review of it, it is not one you plan to add to your collection ;)
Another Sandy film that I own which is not on your list: "Forces of Nature". I only have seen it once and I remember not liking it all that much. That was almost ten years ago. One of these days I have to give it another go. Also I have "A Time to Kill" and "Speed 2", both movies I wouldn't necessarily recommend to you.

But one movie which I really enjoyed which is missing in your collection: "The Lake House (http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,646.msg69674.html#msg69674)"

Tomorrow actually... I just put it up a day ahead to prepare for it... and for suggestions and such. I mean after all that is why it is called a Monday mini-marathon!   :tease:

Thanks for the suggestions! I almost forgot what The Thing Called Love was until you reminded me of your review! I could have ended up buying that one not realizing it!  Depending on the amount of music vs. the screen time of her I would consider it... but I would have to get it very cheap! :P

Forces of Nature is a maybe... if I find it cheap I would probably get it
A Time To Kill has been suggested to me before as a good movie and I must admit I am curious about it!
Speed 2 wasn't the best of movies... but I would grab cheap
The Lake House I don't know much about... but will look into it

Thanks for the suggestions!

You must watch A Time To Kill, Pete. I reviewed it here (http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,5216.msg101642.html#msg101642) and although I'm critical of it, it's a fun movie and seriously, Bullock has never been cuter...

A Time to Kill is rather cheap on Amazon too! Only $7.49. They have another one for $5.99 but the aspect ratio is different... it says 1.77:1 instead of 2.35:1. I would think the 2.35:1 would be the one I want... right? Which was the OAR?

Interesting. I just consulted my Little Book of Widescreen and it lists a A Time To Kill as "unknown". I find that strange. A 1996 film with an unknown ratio?

A quick Google seems to suggest 2.35:1 is the correct one though. Would make sense especially in line with Tom's Blu.

I would like to get... but still way too expensive...
- The Blind Side ($18.49)
- Biography: Sandra BullocK  ($22.49)

Okay Pete - I have good news and (maybe) bad news. The bad news is I can't find Crash. I might have lent it to my eldest niece - I'll check when I go there either Tuesday or Wednesday.

What I do have for you:

Hangmen: UPC 096009-010232
Speed 2: 024543-043997
A Time to Kill: UPC 085391-431725. It says it is "letterbox" Widescreen.
The Lake House: UPC 012569-736726

I'll mail everything out later in the week.

I think nobody mentioned this:

Harry Connick, Jr is not the best actor in the world, though I like how he sings (don't worry Pete, he doesn't here!) but the movie is nice.

I don't think anyone has mentioned The Blind Side.

Then I also have to mention "All About Steve". For this one Sandra Bullock won a Razzie, while winning an Oscar the next day for "The Blind Side". I haven't seen both yet, but I seriously doubt that Sandra Bullock deserved that Razzie.

I want to see The Blind Side so bad! But unfortunately the DVD is still a little too expensive for my taste. As for All About Steve... I have such mixed feelings on that one. Part of me wants to give it a chance as it is Sandra Bullock. But another part of me don't even want to see it... as going by the trailer alone... this is the first character of hers that was actually painful to watch!

I agree... even with how the trailer looked to me... I seriously doubt that she would deserve a Razzie for it. I did see that clip where she accepted the Razzie... and I must admit I loved how she handled it!

My niece bought All About Steve and lent it to me. Although it was not my favorite of hers, I thought is was okay. But then, I enjoy most films...even bad ones! I will say that I won't be adding to my collection but only because I am downsizing. Why don't you see if you can get it from the library - I bet they'll have a copy you can borrow.

Of course even though I am downsizing, I plan on buying The Blind Side.  :-[

I think I remember something about that movie (Who Shot Pat)... wasn't that based on a character from Saturday Night Live or something like that? No one knew if Pat was male of female... something like that? or am I thinking of something completely different?

I sent you a pm

Here's what the overview says: "Sandra Bullock ("While You Were Sleeping", "Speed") stars in a wistful story set during the late 1950s. This nostalgic drama portrays the lives and adventures of a group of Brooklyn high-schoolers. Big trouble starts when random gunfire wounds one of the teenagers. The rest of the group now goes in search of the scoundrel doing the shooting".

The Blind Side is great.  Sandra is so good in it.  I have seen Hope Floats, and I liked it.  Two if By Sea is ok, though not great.

I did see All About Steve and I don't think it is that bad.  It isn't great, but definitely not as bad as some have said.  Her character is a bit kooky, but there are some cute moments in it.  Mary is a bit of a stalker, but the story ends up working.  It was promoted all wrong.

Oh I just remembered.  All About Steve has started showing on HBO.  One day last week it was on..I saw a few minutes before I did something else.  So check HBO..and maybe the On Demand thing.

Title: All About Steve
Year: 2009
Director: Phil Traill
Rating: PG-13
Length: 99 Min.

Stars:
Sandra Bullock
Thomas Haden Church
Bradley Cooper
Ken Jeong
DJ Qualls

Plot:
Convinced that a CCN cameraman is her true love, an eccentric crossword puzzler trails him as he travels all over the country, hoping to convince him that they belong together.

My Thoughts:
Starting off with one not even on my list. Since this one is on HBO On-Demand  I thought I would start with something I never seen before. When I first seen the trailer for this movie I really wasn't interested in seeing it. I just didn't like how Sandra Bullock's character appeared to be. After watching it I discovered it was better then I was expecting... but definitely not a favorite movie of hers for me. While I could see myself getting it.... I would have to get it cheap.

Unable to deal with Phoenix's brutal 1990s style, officials seek an old-fashioned cop to fight old-fashioned crime. They revive Sgt. John Spartan (Stallone), unjustly serving a CryoPrison sentence because of his last encounter with Phoenix. My Thoughts:
This is the first movie I became aware of Sandra Bullock in. To me this is just a fun movie... it is a good mixture of comedy and action. A movie I have enjoyed watching countless times. Sure it is far fetched... pretty much have to suspend believability... but I think as long as you can do that you can definitely enjoy this movie. I thought Sandra Bullock was hilarious in this movie,,, but of course Stallone and Snipes were also good.

Year: 2009

Rating: PG-13
Length: 108 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround

Stars:
Sandra Bullock

Mary Steenburgen
Craig T. Nelson
Betty White
Denis O'Hare

Plot:
Sandra Bullock is at her funniest in the fresh, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy The Proposal. On the verge of being deported and losing the high-powered job she lives for, the controlling Margaret announces she's engaged to her unsuspecting, put-upon assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds). After proposing a few demands of his own, the mismatched couple heads to Alaska where they have four short days to convince his quirky family and a very skeptical immigration agent that their charade is real. Featuring a star-studded supporting cast, including Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson and the delightfully inappropriate Betty White, this madcap comedy will have you saying "yes" to The Proposal again and again.

My Thoughts:
This is the second time I watched this movie since I bought it earlier this year. I enjoy this one very much. It helps that I am a fan of both Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I think the funniest scene in the entire movie was the shower/running into each other naked scene. Basically the only scene I actually laughed at in the movie. But I do believe a romantic comedy isn't so much about actual laugh out loud moments. More about a lighthearted look at falling in love. Sure... the ending is predictable. But once again I believe that is to be expected with romantic comedies as they are not about the ending... going in we expect the ending... it is about the journey of how they get to that point. Over-all looking at this movie I just find a fun story. I enjoyed both Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in this one. Though I do think they wasted the talents of Betty White. They could have done a better job on her character. Though it was kinda funny seeing her dancing and chanting in the woods.

My Thoughts:
I have seen this movie get not so great reviews on the net... but I have to say... it is one of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies. I have watched it countless times. I find this movie to just be pure fun. There is several parts of this movie that I literally laughed out loud on. Sandra Bullock really has a great style in this movie. Shows that she can really hold her own when it comes to comedy.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Okay Pete - I have good news and (maybe) bad news. The bad news is I can't find Crash. I might have lent it to my eldest niece - I'll check when I go there either Tuesday or Wednesday.

What I do have for you:

Hangmen: UPC 096009-010232
Speed 2: 024543-043997
A Time to Kill: UPC 085391-431725. It says it is "letterbox" Widescreen.
The Lake House: UPC 012569-736726

I'll mail everything out later in the week.

I came across this while looking to see if anyone had reviewed Hangmen.  I am confused, Kathy...I thought you were sending Hanggmen to Pete...yet you mailed it to me in the batch I got today!  Did you have more than one copy?  Or did Pete hate it so much he sent it back and then you palmed it off on me?  :hysterical:  I glanced at Amazon where (among the customer reviews) one said it was the worst movie he'd seen in his life!  And another said the picture was extremely poor.  Maybe I should watch this one first...get the worst out of the way first?

Amazon Canada marketplace (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B000ION2F8/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1283643984&sr=1-29&condition=new) had it at 9.20$... but it sure not worth that, mine cost me 5.55$ and it was way too much

Make a request at the Super Club Videotron to get it in stock. Just make them believe it's the best film ever made
