Title: Jon's Fault
Post by: Dragonfire on March 13, 2011, 03:58:38 AM
Since I have several recent purchases that are all Jon's fault, I decided it was time to start this thread.   ;D

There are all purchases in the last week...you may notice a theme here.

Top Gear: The Complete Season 14
I don't have the profile for this one done yet.  A friend already borrowed it before I had the chance.

- This one is partially the fault of someone from Epinions..she just wrote a review of it and since I remembered seeing some of Baker's episodes and liking the, I decided to get it.  But Jon still gets the bulk of the blame because it is Doctor Who.   ;)

Interesting how Series 1 is not part of the blame :hmmmm:

That's only because I got the first season a few months ago.  These are just the ones from the last week.

Yup...see what you've started.  And there are more shows from England I'm wanting now too.

Nope.  The movie shows from England I try, the more I end up liking.  I've liked all of them that I've seen so far.

3 more purchases that are at least partially Jon's fault...more Doctor Who stuff.  I can't seem to stop myself where the Doctor is concerned.  And that's Jon's fault because he started it.  And he accepted the blame before.     They were on sale at least.

I'm not accepting the blame for them! I was never so keen on the old Doctors. Good stories but even as a nipper I recognised the wobbly sets and dodgy make-up... :tease:

Marie, you should get "The Genesis of the Daleks" to understand the origin of Davros. And maybe "The Time Warrior" to have the first appearance of Sarah Jane Smith.

Doesn't matter...you started me down this road...so it is still your fault.  :P

Karsten, I think I was looking at Genesis of Daleks.  I'll probably try to get it at some point.

Marvellous!  I love the reason why Rory gets slapped...  :hysterical:

He also popped up "live"...

Oh, and I don't mean to bring the mood down, but David Tennat is now a fully fledged Comic Relief participant, which just proves his popularity. This was his campaign video:

Don't know if this is any use:

It has at least reminded me of one we haven't really talked about properly. Ahem... Merlin. You'd like that one, Marie. I can almost guarantee it!

You just had to post that link didn't you?  :p

I had thought about Merlin before.  I saw it in Walmart here for either $15 or $20.

Jon probably thought I finally gave up blaming him for some of my purchases...but nope, I'm back with more blame.     I just saved some up.

I now have all of the new run of Doctor Who that is out.  I think I mentioned when I got both parts of series six..and The Christmas Carol episode.  I finally got series five, so I have them all.  And it is all Jon's fault.

I may have forgotten to mention that I found a Doctor Who shirt a few months ago that I just had to get.  Again Jon's fault.  ;)  Like 2 weeks ago I got a sonic screwdriver keychain flashlight.  They have a Dalek one too that I'll probably go back for.  I got another Doctor Who shirt.  This one has the painting from The Big Bang that Van Gough painted of the TARDIS exploding on it.

And....I have my very own TARDIS now.  It's a cookie jar, but it is a TARDIS.     It makes the noises when the lid is opened or you push down on the little light thing on the top.  Laugh at me if you like..but I have a TARDIS   :tease:

Jon, you've created a monster.

OH...I almost forgot.  I got another season of Top Gear too.  16 or 17...whatever the newest one on DVD is.  It has the Middle East special when they drove through Iraq.  Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were in one of the episodes for the lap.

Should I feel ashamed? Because I really really don't.

No...you should feel blamed.  ;)

It's season 16 of Top Gear that I just got.  I'll get the second series of Sherlock when it is out over here..that's still a few months off I think.  I know it is supposed to air over here on PBS in ..umm...May I think.  So it won't be out until after that.  I have some other British shows on my wish list at Amazon too...probably just a matter of time before I get them too.

If you liked the Sherlock series you should (if you haven't done so already) risk an eye on "Luther".

I've seen the promos for Luther on BBC America.  I just haven't tried that one yet.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Far fetched considering it's more realistic setting. What about Merlin? I can imagine you blaming me for that one!

I still haven't seen Merlin.  But don't worry...the blame will come once I do. ;)

Ohh...I can't remember if I mentioned before or not, but I got the complete set for Black Adder too..and yes it is your fault.  It is a BBC show after all.  ;D

Well I went and did it....I ordered LOTR Extended Editions set on Blu yesterday from Amazon.  Deal of the day.

And yes, it is entirely Jon's fault.  Just because.  :P

Awesome set, looks beautiful and has all the special features. You will be glad Jon made you do it. I just watched it recently.

This is a triple dip for me...well least I think it is.  I have the theatrical and extended DVDs for all three movies already.

Did the Theatrical DVDs have the commentaries by Costa Botes...? I only had the extended DVDs before so those docus were new to me (and they were quite enjoyable too!).
Title: Re: Jon's Fault
Post by: Dragonfire on February 28, 2012, 04:22:37 PM
I don't think so...there are extras on them, but I don't think any commentaries.  The Theatrical versions I have all have 2 discs.

Good, then those docus are a new addition  for you :D

They are quite good. They don't explain much, they are more the fly-on-the-wall approach and giving a fair share of time to the usually lesser known people with more lew-key jobs on set. As I said, I enjoyed them quite a bit, they are certainly worth a watch.

I haven't blamed Jon for anything in a while...but I ordered something last night that is definitely all his fault.

I put it on my wish list at Amazon after he talked about it a few years ago ...the price stayed somewhat high, so it sat on the list.  Well last night I found it for $23, so I ordered it.  It is supposed to be here Monday.

 I'll happily take the blame for that! Marvellous set. I think Pete might blame me for him buying it too, as I seemed to remember twisting his arm, but he enjoyed it...

I have to give Marie some of the blame too since I just ordered this set because of her post.

I remember you and Pete talking about it before too...that was when I added it to my wish list.  I was just going through it the other night - it is pages and pages long now..lol - and found that it was cheaper.

And I add more blame to Jon...see what you did??  You made me buy it, and then Kathy felt the need to get it when I posted...that all goes back to Jon..all his fault.  Yup...  least that's my story and I'm sticking with it.  All Jon's fault.   :tease:

Yup...all entirely Jon's fault.   ;D
