Title: Angel Marathon
Post by: addicted2dvd on December 20, 2009, 11:48:16 PM
Angel Marathon (http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/02/024543062981f.jpg) Angel: Season 1 Angel (David Boreanaz), the dashing demon from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," embarks on his own supernatural adventures in Los Angeles. City of Angels. City of Broken Dreams. Between pervasive evil and countless temptations lurking beneath the city's glittery facade, L.A. is the ideal address for a fallen vampire looking to save a few lost souls and, in turn, perhaps redeem his own.

Angel: Season 1
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/87/Angel101.jpg) 1. City Of Newly arrived in Los Angeles, Angel is befriended by a half-demon named Doyle who visions lead him to a powerful vampire whose next victim just may be Cordelia Chase.
Guest Stars: Tracy Middendorf Vyto Ruginis Christian Kane
My Thoughts: I remembered when I first heard Angel got his own spinoff... I was concerned it wouldn't be any good. But I was pleasantly surprised. I actually enjoyed it a lot. I also liked that they brought Cordelia over. At this point she is still pretty prissy... but they do change that as this show goes on. Her character definitely grows up quite a bit during this show. The pilot episode is a lot of fun. I really liked towards the end when Angel comes to the mansion to save Cordelia... and when he shows up Cordelia comes out with... "You don't know who he is".... "Oh Boy... You are going to get your ass kicked!" LOL. Some reason I love that line every time I see it.

Angel: Season 1
(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/buffy/images/0/00/Danny..jpg) 2. Lonely Hearts Another of Doyle's visions leads the newly formed Angel Investigations to a trendy bar where they face off against a worm-like demon who eviscerates its victims.
Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Lillian Birdsell Obi Ndefo Derek Hughes
My Thoughts: This is the first episode that has the character of Detective Kate Lockley. It is a pretty good episode... but not what I would call a great one. I liked the introduction of Kate... and it did have some good fight scenes in it. But for some reason it didn't click for me. Maybe because I never been one to frequent bars and clubs. I did however get a kick out of Doyle getting into a bar fight to defend Cordelia's honor. That is another thing... I always disliked Cordelia in the episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But in this series I like her. Only a little at this point... but she soon grows as a person... and as she does she grew on me as well.

Angel: Season 1
(http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/buffy/images/thumb/c/c0/Marcus.jpg/284px-Marcus.jpg) 3. In the Dark Oz arrives in L.A. with a ring from Buffy which must be kept from Spike at all costs - and which would allow Angel to walk in the light of day.
Guest Stars: Seth Green James Marsters Kevin West Malia Mathis
My Thoughts: I always liked it when cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer came guest starred on Angel. This is the first time we get that when Spike follows Oz taking the ring to Angel. Since this story started on an episode of Buffy... I went ahead and watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 4 - The Harsh Light of Day before watching this episode so I could get the entire story in. Not sure if I will do that with every cross-over episode or not... but I wanted to do it tonight. This episode is good. I actually kinda liked seeing Angel getting tortured and needing help. It is a nice change from how the series usually goes.

Angel: Season 1
(http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd120/fireflyfan22/1x04-1.jpg) 4. I Fall to Pieces Original Air Date: 10/26/1999 Angel aids a woman being stalked by a deranged surgeon who the unnatural ability to track the woman's every move with the aid of detachable body parts.
Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Tushka Bergen Andy Umberger Carlos Carrasco
My Thoughts: This is a good episode. Has an interesting storyline. And the effects were pretty cool as well. Seeing hands movie by themselves and an eyeball floating in the air. Of course Cordelia gets excited over the first money coming into the company. and Doyle still having the hots of Cordelia but can't bring himself to tell her.

Pete probably take a screen capture when he watch them on his computer or he already have the pictures on his DVDP folders.

I first search the net with google image search with show title then episode title so for something like this I would do a search of "Angel" "I Fall to Pieces" to see if I can find a decent image for it. If I don't see anything worth using (or any at all) then I will pop the disc into the computer and take a vidcap.
For Angel (I am sorry forget who it was now) one of our friends here at the site pointed me to a site that had an image for almost every episode. (http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Angel_episodes (http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Angel_episodes))

Angel: Season 1
(http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/buffy/images/d/db/Kailiff.jpg) 5. Rm w/a Vu Original Air Date: 11/2/1999 While Doyle deals with a demon who has come to collect on his loans, Cordelia and a ghost battle it out for the rights to live in a gorgeous rent-controlled apartment.
Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Beth Grant Marcus Redmond Denney Pierce
My Thoughts: This is actually one of my favorite of the early episodes. I liked both storylines and how they combined them at the end of the episode. Plus you couldn't help getting a kick out of Cordelia getting pissed at the ghost towards the end. She said it perfectly when she said "The Bitch is Back!" I also got a kick out of her new "roommate". It really is a fun episode.

Angel: Season 1
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tvsquad.com/media/2006/07/lizrohm.jpg) 6. Sense & Sensitivity Original Air Date: 11/9/1999 A sensitivity seminar for Kate's police squad backfires with near disastrous results when Angel tries to discover who has taken a contract out on Kate's life.
Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm John Capodice John Mahon Ron Marasco
My Thoughts: Not really a favorite episode of mine. It is alright... but sensitivity thing played more silly then funny. Though there was a couple giggles in it. Storyline really wasn't that interesting. Really just an average filler type episode.

Angel: Season 1
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2771/4383872421_b5d895db12_o.jpg) 7. Bachelor Party Original Air Date: 11/16/1999 Doyle nearly loses his mind when he and Angel are invited to a attend a bachelor party given by his ex-wife's new fiancé, and Ano-Movic demon.
Guest Stars: Kristin Dattilo Carlos Jacott Ted Kairys Chris Tallman
My Thoughts: A good episode... we find out a bit about Doyle's past in this one. Cordelia is really starting to like Doyle by now. But at this point she still don't know he is part demon. At the very end of this episode Doyle has a vision about Buffy... so this must be the prelude to the first time Angel goes back to Buffy for an episode.

Angel: Season 1
(http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stephen.penney1/Buffy%20&%20Angel%20-%20What%20Hurts%20The%20Most_0001.jpg) 8. I Will Remember You Original Air Date: 11/23/1999 When exposure to demon blood causes Angel to become mortal, he must decide whether or not to renew his relationship with Buffy.
Guest Stars: Carey Cannon Randall Slavin Sarah Michelle Gellar David Wald
My Thoughts: Here we have the first time Buffy appears on Angel. It is a good... if somewhat sad episode of you ever wanted to see Buffy and Angel together. The storyline is pretty good. I got a bit of a laugh when Angel first turned human and rushed to the refrigerator. But of course... as always when you get Buffy and Angel together... this is more drama then anything else.

Angel: Season 1

Hero Original Air Date: 11/30/1999 Doyle gets a chance to atone for his past when Angel agrees to help a group of mixed-heritage demons being hunted by violent pure-blood demons known as The Scourge.
Guest Stars: Tony Denman Anthony Cistaro Michelle Horn Lee Arenberg
My Thoughts: It is now time to say goodbye to Doyle (Glenn Quinn). It is shame his time on Angel was so short as I enjoyed his character. This is another good episode. Cordelia finds out about Doyle... prepares to go out with him... and loose him all in one episode. So this one was definitely more of a dramatic storyline then it was comedic. So not to much here to even give you a little chuckle. Well maybe Doyle trying to do the commercial. But that is about it.

Angel: Season 1
(http://sharetv.org/images/angel/115727.jpg) 10. Parting Gifts Original Air Date: 12/14/1999 As Cordelia struggles with the unwanted gift Doyle passed on to her, a leather-clad Wesley Wyndam-Pryce roars into town claiming to be a rogue demon hunter.
My Thoughts: This is the episode where Wesley is added to the show. This is one Buffy character I never liked. But he grows into a pretty good character on this show. I liked the storyline on this one. Especially towards the end... at the auction house.

Angel: Season 1
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tvsquad.com/media/2006/08/angel_som.jpg) 11. Somnambulist Original Air Date: 1/18/2000 Kate discovers Angel's secret after he comes to her assistance when a vampire from his past shows up in town and begins a killing spree.
Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Jeremy Renner Nick McCallum Kimberleigh Aarn
My Thoughts: This is an episode I really enjoyed a lot! It had a very interesting story. I liked that Kate finally found out about the demons that are really out there. For some reason on both Buffy and Angel whenever they show clips of Angel back in the old days... that is a sign of a very good episode. This one is definitely one of my favorites of the first season!

Guest Stars: Daphnee Duplaix Ken Marino Josh Randall Doug Tompos
My Thoughts: Another one I enjoyed. I especially like that Cordelia got to get in the last blow against the demon. And I definitely had to chuckle at the very end when Cordelia made Wesley tear up.

Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Will Kempe Katy Boyer Anthony Cistaro Jesse James
My Thoughts: This is one I enjoyed a lot. Sure... it is a rip off of The Exorcist. But it is a good one. I really enjoyed the storyline. And the effects were done well. And I liked how they made it that the demon wanted nothing more then to be released from the boy.

Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Julie Benz John Mahon J. Kenneth Campbell

Guest Stars: Tamara Gorski Michael Mantell Robin Meyers
My Thoughts: A good episode... though it does start out a little slow. And the whole star wanting to be a vampire to stay looking young is a story that was told before... more then once. But entertaining all the same. And it really picked up when Angel gets drugged... awakening Angelus. That is the part that saved this episode for me.

Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Christian Kane Stephanie Romanov Eliza Dushku Sarah Michelle Gellar
My Thoughts: This is a great conclusion to Faith coming to LA. Plenty of excitement. And Buffy comes to town seeking vengeance. Though I do think Wesley was a little quick to help Angel after the torture he went through at the hands of Faith. At least Cordelia taking off for a vacation while they helped Faith was a little more believable.

I just watched the very same episode (the last 4 to be precise) and I don't think Wesley would have come around so easily hadn't it been for the three Council guys. Wesley values life very high - remember when he will steal Connor to protect him?

Angel: Season 2
(http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/buffy/images/thumb/8/8b/Angel_2x01.jpg/284px-Angel_2x01.jpg) 1. Meanwhile, Angel struggles with the discovery that he may not always be eternal and Darla recovers from her resurrection from Hell.
Guest Stars: Christian Kane Stephanie Romanov Julie Benz Eliza Dushku
My Thoughts: Until I seen Lorne (The Host) on the cover I completely forgot about the karaoke bar. Now I am not looking forward to this season as much. The very first scene is Lorne singing a little. Then there was 2 more scenes in the bar through-out the episode. Including Angel singing (badly) Mandy. But other then that... it was a good episode... with some decent action. But I had to laugh at the end of the episode when Angel went to visit Faith in jail. And they were comparing how bad their day was... after listening to Faith say how she was attacked by another inmate with a make-shift knife and how she disarmed her but didn't killer her. Then she was beat by the guards. Angel came back with well I had to sing Barry Manilow... in front of people. We also get our first look at the old hotel that will eventually become the new home base for Angel and his team.

My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. It was fun seeing Angelus (through flashbacks) with Darla and Drusilla. This is a huge Darla episode... which was cool since I have become a fan of Julie Benz between this show and Dexter.

Guise Will Be Guise Original Air Date: 11/7/2000 Angel travels to a mystical swami to help him understand his haunting dreams and get in touch with his inner demon, but while he is away Wesley assumes Angel's identity to try to save a young girl and sort of enjoys playing the role of a vampire with a soul.
Guest Stars: Art LaFleur Brigid Brannagh Patrick Kilpatrick Todd Susman
My Thoughts: While a decent enough episode... it was never one of my favorites. Though there was a few chuckles in it... it didn't offer much more then that. It was a bit limited on the action. Story wise it was pretty good.

Guest Stars: Mark Metcalf Christian Kane Sam Anderson Julie Benz Juliet Landau James Marsters
My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. This time with lots of familiar faces from Buffy. This time we get to see The Master (Big Bad from season 1), Darla, Drusilla and Spike. Lots of back story in flashbacks and the continuing storyline with Darla is really getting good at this point.

Guest Stars: Christian Kane Sam Anderson Julie Benz Juliet Landau

My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. I really enjoyed every minute of this one. I especially enjoyed seeing the newly vamped Darla back together with Drusilla. My Thoughts: Another episode I enjoyed a lot. I was concerned as I thought I remembered not caring for the episodes where Angel fired the gang. But at least for the first one... very entertaining. Much to the dismay of her co-workers, the ever loyal Cordelia resolves to give her undead friend a chance at fighting for the good guys.
Guest Stars: Mercedes McNab Pat Healy Alyson Hannigan
My Thoughts: This one is more a fun, comedic episode. And it definitely is funny. Brittany joined me watching this one... and she was laughing so hard she couldn't even breath. It was definitely hilarious seeing Cordelia confusing Harmony being a vampire with being a lesbian. And even more so when she goes on about it to Willow over the phone.

I am hoping to see her back soon now.The baby was taken to an alternate dimension... and Wesley had his throat sliced after betraying Angel. That last part I completely forgot about.

Angel: Season 3
(http://www.criticallytouched.com/angel/images/3x17_3.jpg) 17. Forgiving Original Air Date: 4/15/2002 As Fred, Gunn and Lorne try to figure out why Wesley would steal Connor, Angel tries to find a way to follow Holtz into the Quor-toth dimension and bring his son back home.
Guest Stars: John Rubinstein Laurel Holloman Stephanie Romanov Jack Conley
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one as well. Wesley has a long road ahead of him to get Angel to forgive him and trust him again. At this point the only thing Angel wants is to see Wesley dead. I can understand it too... why didn't Wesley go to the team... a team he considered family... with the information he had and try to figure things out that way? It would have saved a whole lot of grief.

Guest Stars: Mark Lutz Jason Carter Patrick St. Esprit
My Thoughts: And we have another episode I enjoyed. This one is less on the season long arc and more a stand alone episode. I must admit I got a kick out of what Gunn sold his soul for. I somehow forgot about it since I last watched it.

Guest Stars: Stephanie Romanov Daniel Dae Kim Mark Lutz John Short Vincent Kartheiser
My Thoughts: Once again this is another episode I enjoyed. We are really on a role here. The series has been up in quality for several episodes straight. I like the whole consequences from the spell thing. And of course there is the first look at the returning Connor from the hell dimension.

Guest Stars: Vincent Kartheiser Stephanie Romanov Mark Lutz Erika Thormahlen
My Thoughts: While still a good episode... I didn't find this one quite as good as the previous several. While interesting... and I enjoyed the search for Connor and such. I didn't care much for the side storyline. Where Connor meets up with a junkie. And while I understand why it had to be drawn out some... I will be glad to see Wesley back in with the group. But that may take a while yet.

Guest Stars: Vincent Kartheiser Laurel Holloman Mark Lutz Stephanie Romanov Keith Szarabajka
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one. It was fun to watch Angel and Connor fighting side by side. And how they fight so similar even though he grew up apart from Angel. Though I do think the whole Cordelia's new power saving the day in a previous episode... and her new power "curing" Connor in this episode is a little much. Seems like they are using it as a serve all purpose type thing at this point.

Guest Stars: John Rubinstein Vincent Kartheiser Laurel Holloman Mark Lutz Stephanie Romanov Daniel Dae Kim David Denman Keith Szarabajka
My Thoughts: This is a pretty good season finale. Though not the best I have ever seen. It went more of a story route then an action one. And seemed to worry more about setting up the next season then was actually necessary. But the story they told is an interesting one... so it is not a really big deal they went more the story route.

Angel: Season 4
(http://www.criticallytouched.com/angel/images/4x02_3.jpg) 2. Ground State Original Air Date: 10/13/2002 When Wesley advises Angel to visit Dinza, a dark "goddess of the lost" who has valuable information on how to find Cordelia, he learns that a certain mystical antiquity called the axis can locate souls across dimensions. Angel, Fred and Gunn break into an auction house to retrieve the object only to discover that an electrifying cat burglar has the same intentions.
Guest Stars: Stephanie Romanov Alexa Davalos Rena Owen Tom Irwin
My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. I really enjoyed this Gwen character. And if I am not mistaken... we will get to see more of her later in the season. Or maybe next season... I can't remember, but I do believe we see her again. The story is well done... and I like how they gave a back story to Gwen.

Angel: Season 4
(http://www.criticallytouched.com/angel/images/4x03_1.jpg) 3. The House Always Wins Original Air Date: 10/20/2002 Angel, Fred and Gunn take a road trip to Las Vegas to enlist Lorne's help in finding Cordelia, but get caught up in a supernatural and literal "futures" trading scheme. A ruthless casino owner holds Lorne hostage, exploiting the popular entertainer's psychic abilities to steal unsuspecting patrons' destinies. It is Angel's future, however, that is of more interest...
Guest Stars: Clayton Rohner Morocco Omari
My Thoughts: A fun episode... but not quite as good as the previous couple. I noticed there was a commentary track for this episode with the guy that plays Lorne. So I watched it both with and without the commentary. As I said... I enjoyed the episode without the commentary. And while always fun for me to watch an episode with an actor commentary on... this one really added very little. I definitely heard better commentaries.

Angel: Season 4
(http://www.criticallytouched.com/angel/images/4x04_1.jpg) 4. Slouching Toward Bethlehem Original Air Date: 10/27/2002 After months of existing on a higher plane, Cordelia inexplicably appears back at the hotel - with no idea why or even how she arrived there. Sadly, a serious case of amnesia prevents Cordy from remembering either her friends or her past. Believing the full truth may scare her off, the gang attempts to hide the freaky facts about their lives. Unfortunately, that secrecy leads to mistrust on Cordy's part when the reality of their situation is revealed. Things get even more complicated when Lorne reads her mind and sees a terrifying vision of the future. Meanwhile, outcast Connor struggles to find his place in the world.
Guest Stars: Stephanie Romanov Nynno Ahli Thomas Crawford
My Thoughts: A really interesting episode that brings the main season long storyline further. I never cared much for the whole Cordelia with amnesia storyline... though I do know it is needed to get to the Jasmine storyline. But over-all I think it is interesting but could be better.

Angel: Season 4
(http://www.cityofangel.com/behindTheScenes/bts4/images/topTen/bcangel8.jpg) 6. Spin the Bottle Original Air Date: 11/10/2002 When Lorne performs a spell on Cordelia to restore her memory, it inadvertently causes the gang to revert back to their high school personas and leaves them with no memories of each other. Eventually, they discover that the only way to reverse the spell is to kill a vampire, just as Angel realizes that he is one.
Guest Stars: No One Worth Noting
My Thoughts: This one is a lot of fun to watch. I really enjoyed every second of it. After a spell gone bad... all the main characters gets turned back to their teen-aged selves. Of course we are familiar with Cordelia's character as we seen it in Buffy. But it was pretty fun to see the rest. The episode is definitely worth a chuckle or two.

Bloodied and beaten, Angel and his friends realize that they may not be able to stop the impending doom.
Guest Stars: Stephanie Romanov Daniel Dae Kim Vladimir Kulich

Angel, Wesley, Gunn and Fred break into the building, only to be encountered by zombies of dead lawyers.
Guest Stars: Stephanie Romanov Daniel Dae Kim Vladimir Kulich
My Thoughts: This one I liked a whole lot! And I must say I got a good laugh out of Connor comparing angel to the Zombies... A slow, dimwitted undead thing that craves human flesh! That just could have been the best laugh I had so far in this series. The last Totem is a guy named Manny, he seeks help from Gwen Raiden and Angel Investigations.
Guest Stars: Alexa Davalos Jack Kehler Michael Chinyamurindi Vladimir Kulich
My Thoughts: Another episode I really liked. In this episode we see Gwen again. The thief that has the power to control electricity. And we have another scene of the team fighting the Beast... and once again not beating him. But they do find out that they need info stuck deep inside of Angel... matter of fact to get the info... they need Angelus. Guest Stars: Vladimir Kulich Roger Yuan Larry McCormick

My Thoughts: This one never really impressed me that much. Found it to be a bit slow and uninteresting. Probably one of my least favorite of any I have watched so far.

My Thoughts: While better then the last episode... this is another one I never really cared too much for. Just a basic filler episode with a story that just didn't interest me too much.

My Thoughts: This one was right good.... Spike is solid once again. And I loved the fight between Spike. I love it when I go back to the show after year... and forget some of the finer points. This episode actually caught me by surprise who was behind it all! And some flash backs as well!

Guest Stars: Danielle Nicolet Jennifer Haworth Stacy Reed David Gangler

My Thoughts: A good episode... though it is somewhat on the weird side. Especially with all those strange dreams Angel was having.

Guest Stars: Tom Lenk Navi Rawat Jasmine Di Angelo
My Thoughts: Andrew from Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in this episode. I swear he always aggravated me on that show! :P Is a good episode that I enjoyed quite a bit. I like how they continued a storyline from the last season of Buffy... updating us on some of the main characters of that series a little.

Angel: Season 5
(http://www.buffymaniac.it/episodi/images/ats100yourewelcome.jpg) 12. You're Welcome Original Air Date: 2/4/2004 Cordelia returns to help her friends one last time after an old nemesis shows up determined to defeat Angel by overriding a secret failsafe created by the Powers That Be.
Guest Stars: Charisma Carpenter Christian Kane Sarah Thompson Ryan Alvarez T. J. Thyne
My Thoughts: An excellent episode. This is the 100th episode of the series. So you know they do a big one for that. Which also means I only have 10 more episodes of this series to watch now. In this episode we get closure of the Cordelia storyline as well as the Lindsey storyline. And I think they did an excellent job on both... especially with Cordelia. That character really grew since the self-centered character of the early days of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Angel: Season 5
(http://www.buffymaniac.it/episodi/images/ats102smiletime.jpg) 14. Smile Time Original Air Date: 2/18/2004 While Wesley and Fred's relationship heats up, Gunn makes a deal to ensure his mental powers are made permanent, and Angel gets turned into a little felt-covered puppet.
Guest Stars: Jonathan M. Woodward Jenny Mollen Marc Vann David Fury
My Thoughts: I remember when this one was first about to air. And remember not expecting much from it as it really did sound like a stupid storyline. But it turned out better then I expected it to. It is of course played for laughs... and it did have a few. I especially liked where Puppet Angel and Spike was fighting... Spike couldn't stop laughing long enough to fight. And I also liked that they brought back Nina, the werewolf woman from a previous episode.

My Thoughts: While not bad... I still haven't been able to get into the Illyria storyline... and this episode is pretty much all that.

Guest Stars: Jaime Bergman Jeff Yagher Adam Baldwin
My Thoughts: I loved how this one began... I really got a kick out of how Illyria saved Gunn from the Hell Dimension. But over-all while a decent episode... it is not one I cared too much for.

Guest Stars: Christian Kane Dennis Christopher Alec Newman Jenny Mollen Adam Baldwin
My Thoughts: Starting to get really good again. This is basically the first part of the series finale. The team thinks Angel went bad... but that is what he needed them to think.

Angel: Season 5
(http://www.buffymaniac.it/episodi/images/ats110notfade.jpg) 22. Not Fade Away Original Air Date: 5/19/2004 The gang prepares to attack the true powers of evil by attempting to take down the Circle of the Black Thorn - a battle none of them expect to survive.
Guest Stars: Vincent Kartheiser Christian Kane Sarah Thompson Adam Baldwin
My Thoughts: And this is it... the end of the series. I must admit... I loved the fight between Angel and Hamilton. While it made for a hell of an ending... I so wanted more... so wanted to see what happened next. I always wished for a reunion movie or something to continue the story... but that just wasn't meant to be. But this series definitely ended for a hell of a bang!
