Last Update: Jun 27, 2021, current version: 3.0.0.2 for DVD Profiler 4.0.0
- Program (http://doena-soft.de/dvdprofiler/3.9.0/FindNameDuplicates.zip)
- Source Code on GitHub (https://github.com/DJDoena/FindNameDuplicates)
This program scans the exported XML for possible name duplicates, e.g. when only the birth year is different or when only the parsing is different (Helena//Bonham Carter vs. Helena/Bonham/Carter).
You can find other DVD Profiler related software here: English (http://doena-journal.net/en/dvd-profiler-tools) / Deutsch (http://doena-journal.net/dvd-profiler-tools).

Thanks but my Profiler (3.8.1) allow me only to export a complete file aka collection.xml or a file (ean.xml) by profile.
I guess i will continue to change things manually for a while.

Yes. But that is the file you're looking for.
At least in the old versions of the program.
The current version works as a plugin directly in DVD Profiler (in the Collection menu), you don't need an export file for it.

Thanks a lot. It's working great now. Good job!

I found duplicates using your plugin, but I'm wondering if it's designed to actually fix inconsistencies or just to flag them. (I didn't see any obvious "fix" or "assign" commands.)

It's only there to find them. Plugins don't have full access to the DVDP database, this fixing the issue is not possible ATM, sorry.
