Title: Trading Poster
Post by: lovemunkey187 on February 03, 2010, 09:54:20 AM
Not sure on how to do the pretty pictures but recent arrivals are:

As you are a user of DVD Profiler, you could do it with my "Trading Poster TG" plugin. There you have the option to generate a code for this forum to list the front cover images of the flagged titles.
Or you can configure the custom trading poster (in the plugin settings). For example like this:

Custom Header:
Code: [Select]
Custom Body:
Code: [Select]

TP_Title

Custom Footer:
Code: [Select]
Okay,, so I download the plug in and have installed it.

Now what do I do?

Goto Tools->View Plugins...
Select the TradingPosterTG plugin and select "Options..."

Fill out the sections on the right side with the code above.

After OK, "Collection->Flagged->Custom Trading Poster" will copy the code for this forum for the flagged profiles into clipboard.
This function is also available in toolbar.

I don't know exactly how Ken's cache mechanism works but after I watched the profile in your online collection, I can now see that image here, too.

Nothing. The cover displays now.
One thing you have to know about using cover images from Invelos server:
If no one ever has viewed the cover images of the profile in question in an Invelos online collection, the image will not be available elsewhere.
So if you upload a new cover image, you will have to view it at least once in your online collection to be able to see it here.

Edit: Karsten beat me to it.

Or if it was used at least once in a trading poster at invelos.com.
It seems that the online covers are only build after it is needed for the first time on invelos.com.

This is the Trading Poster code for the Invelos forum. If you want to use this plugin, you will have to the custom trading poster code, which you will have to configure first. I personally do not use it for the WhatYaGot thread (I use a HTML window for this), but I will try to post an example.

Edit: I see you got it figured out :)

First time playing with the custom... a test to see if it is how I want it. I just took what was posted above and added the overview (I always like seeing what a movie is about)....

(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/01/012569736726f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)The Lake House
Dr. Kate Forster has finally found romance. Trouble is, it's a long-distance relationship. She's in downtown Chicago. He's in a remote lakeside suburb. And there's more: She's in 2006. He's in 2004.

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock team for the first time since Speed for this heart-lifting story of a love that transcends time. It begins when Kate moves out of her visually stunning lake house and leaves a note for the next tenant, architect Alex Wyler. They begin a correspondence and soon come to realize they are meant for each other...and that, somehow, they live two years apart. Can they ever meet? What would happen if they tried? Magical and emotionally rich, The Lake House is a love story for 2004, for 2006, for all times.
(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/02/024543043997f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)Speed 2: Cruise Control
Hold onto your life-jacket as the rip-roaring sequel to Speed hits the high seas. Sandra Bullock reprises her star-making role as Annie Porter, a young woman expecting to enjoy a Caribbean vacation with her boyfriend (Jason Patric) on the world's most luxurious cruise liner. But their trip to paradise turns deadly when a lunatic computer genius (Willem Dafoe) takes over the boat and sets it on a course for destruction. An explosive voyage helmed by daredevil director Jan De Bont (Speed, Twister), Speed 2: Cruise Control rides the wild waves at maximum velocity.
(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/08/085391431725f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)A Time to Kill
John Grisham's bestseller A Time to Kill hits the screen with incendiary force, directed by Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever, The Client). Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey and Kevin Spacey portray the prinicpals in a murder trial that brings a small Mississippi town's racial tensions to the flashpoint. Amid a frenzy of activist marches, Klan terror, media clamor and brutal riots, an unseasoned but idealistic young attorney mounts a stirring courtroom battle for justice. The superb ensemble also includes Brenda Fricker, Oliver Platt, Charles S. Dutton, Ashley Judd, Patrick McGoohan, Chris Cooper and both Donald and Kiefer Sutherland. These and other talents make A Time to Kill "one of the year's most powerful films" (Jeffrey Lyons, Sneak Previews/ABC World News Now).
(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/09/096009010232f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)Hangmen
Danny Greene is just like every sixteen-year-old kid...except that a secret splinter group of the CIA wants him dead. Danny is running for his life. Enter Danny's father, an ex-Green Beret equipped with a rag-tag bunch of urban guerillas and an entire arsenal of weaponry. But can five former Commandos defeat the largest most thorough network of government sanction assassins in the world? In this high-stakes world, before the case even gets to trial, someone's already called the HANGMEN.
(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/61/619543001636f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)Who Shot Pat?
Sandra Bullock ("While You Were Sleeping", "Speed") stars in a wistful story set during the late 1950s. This nostalgic drama portrays the lives and adventures of a group of Brooklyn high-schoolers. Big trouble starts when random gunfire wounds one of the teenagers. The rest of the group now goes in search of the scoundrel doing the shooting.
(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/88/883929086696f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)The Blind Side
Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) knows little about family. Less about football. What the homeless teen knows are the streets and projects of Memphis. Well-to-do Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) knows little about his world. Yet when she and Michael meet, he's found a home. And the Tuohys have found something just as life-changing: a beloved new son and brother. This real-life story of family and of Michael's growth into a blue-chip football star will have you cheering with its mix of gridiron action and heartwarming emotion. Share the remarkable journey of the college All-American and first-round NFL draft pick who was a winner before he ever stepped onto the playing field.

I thought I had asked this before somewhere in the forum here.... but I couldn't find it through the search. Though I did find this thread. I know I had this problem once before on my old computer... seems I am having it again now with the new computer...

Everytime I start up profiler I see this for the toolbar...

Naturally I don't need all the icons... so I change it to...

Which is all I ever use. I do that... save my layout... but yet every time I open the program it is back to showing all of them. Am I missing something here that will save it at the second image?

You can disable all of them except for the last one in the options of my Trading Poster plugin:
Tools->View Plugins... then select "Trading Poster TG" and then press Options.

The last one is coming from my plugin award. I never tried to remove it, so I thought it would be saved if you customize the toolbar. As it doesn't seem to be the case, I will make an option with my next version of the plugin so that it can be removed.

Hey Tom...
I haven't had the chance to download the new award plugin... but was wondering if you remembered to do something with the sync ccviewer button so it would stay turned off?

Oops. Sorry, I knew I forgot something.
I had checked the thread in the Invelos forum, if I missed something. But I forgot to check here.
If you don't want to wait for the next version, I can send you an unofficial update. I have implemented it now.

Edit: Even if I remembered to check this forum, I probably wouldn't have checked the TradingPoster thread  :P

Creating the version and setup is not much work. But releasing it officially, I would have to tag the source code and increase the version number. Also updating the changelog, Homepage and the plugin section on Invelos.
Which is all I want to avoid for small changes. I am sending you a link to the new version.

I am using, tried to be using this on XP. Unfortunately it kept crashing my DVD Profiler. To be sure if it is the version (on my previous installation in Windows 7 I think I ran 1.2 without problems) or something else, do you still have v1.2 available and can send it to me for testing?
Title: Re: Trading Poster
Post by: Tom on January 14, 2013, 06:44:11 PM
I don't have it at hand. I would have to rebuild it from the sources. But the changes between 1.2 and 1.3 were minimal and I don't think they could cause this behavior.
Does anyone else still have XP and has similar problems? Sadly I recently have given away my old notebook and I don't have DVD Profiler installed on my XP Virtual Machine.
Title: Re: Trading Poster
Post by: Achim on January 15, 2013, 01:40:32 AM
Thanks for the reply. I just deleted the old version on my hard drive two days ago :slaphead: But come to think of it, I think I still should have a backup, let me check that first.

My story here:

I used Windows 7 for a long time and with that I had no problem (using TP 1.2, I am sure). Then I started to have a problem (not necessarily plugin related) so I switched VM from Parallels (they charge every upgrade anyway) to Virtual Box (completely free :)). That actually went well for a while until Windows 7 suddenly decided that my computer had changed and I needed to authenticate again, which it then promptly failed. Since even a phone call to Microsoft couldn't fix this I went back to good old XP (still the best, IMHO), since DVD Profiler even supports way back to Windows 2000.

After installing and copying the database the program wouldn't start. I had seen the behaviour before, so I got worried. But on second startup you get that debug menu and I opted not to load plugins. Without plugins, it loaded fine. TP being the only one I installed I removed it and then DVD Profiler started instantly.

I installed Windows XP with ALL updates and fixes plus .NET 2.x, 3.x and 4.x. The TP installer checks requirements anyway, so it should be anything missing for it to run, right? My XP only includes the before-mentioned plus DVD Profiler plus Beyond Compare 3. SO I wouldn't suspect a clash either.

I'll check 1.2 later today and let you know how that went. The upgrade to 1.3 is pretty much the only difference to my previous setup (other than the downgrade to XP).

So, the good news, it does not seem to be a problem with TG 1.3, as 1.2 also caused a crash.

Obviously that means that the bad news is, that the problem is on my end. :(

I am so glad that after 2 weeks I finally got DVDP running again, that missing TG will not be a by thing or now. I just might have to stop posting in the WhatYaGot thread or t least in a different manner.

New version: v1.7
Change: Switch to newer .NET Framework. It still used .NET 2, which is not available on Windows 10 by default
Change: WhatYaGot now uses another template fitting for this forum. Instead of "WhatYaGot" tag, which need phpDVDProfiler collection. Not sure, if anyone still used that via this plugin. If yes, it could be also archieved via custom tag.
