Race to Witch Mountain, a review by RichRace to Witch Mountain ![]() Fasten your seatbelts for the thrill ride of your life in Disney's fun family action-adventure - RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, starring Dwayne Johnson. Jack Bruno (Johnson), a Las Vegas cabdriver struggling to stay on the right path, gets an out-of-this-world incentive when two aliens, disguised as teenagers, suddenly appear in his taxi. In a race against government agents, an alien hunter and time itself, Jack must help the children recover their lost spaceship so they can return home and save their planet and ours. Breathtaking chases, close calls and special effects make this an action-adventure the whole family will enjoy. Bearing in mind the audience age this movie was primarily made for, it is a fun adventure with amazing special effects, and ticks the boxes for most youngsters desires from an action movie. Johnsons gags are entertaining, and to be fair he doesn't do a bad job in this movie. Gugino appears as sweet as ever, and the pace of the film is non-stop. Surprisingly a good family movie that should entertain all. ![]() **Carla Gugino mini-marathon ![]() (From Riches Random Reviews on August 5th, 2009) Romeo Must Die, a review by RichRomeo Must Die ![]() They've got the weapons. They've got the posses. And they've got no chance against former Hong Kong cop Han Sing. Gravity-warping martial arts, cool visual effects and an all-star music track combine in this revved-up action movie from producer Joel Silver ('The Matrix') and starring Jet Li ('Lethal Weapon 4') in his first english-language lead role. Li plays rough-and-ready Han, who shares an attraction with Trish O'Day (screen-debuting songstress Aaliyah) even though their families are rivals in a fierce Oakland turf battle. The two also share plenty of danger as they try to find the real cause of the blood feud. No gun, no posse? No problem. With Jet Li going to war as only he can, 'Romeo Must Die' is alive and kicking. Some great action scenes, and some funny moments with for once one-liners from Jet Li that don't make you cringe. The storyline isn't up to too much but what would you expect, with a twist so obvious you could spot it from the moon. All in all good entertainment, nice blend of fighting violence and special effects which impressed. ![]() (From Riches Random Reviews on May 22nd, 2009) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 3 ![]() 17. Forgiving Original Air Date: 4/15/2002 As Fred, Gunn and Lorne try to figure out why Wesley would steal Connor, Angel tries to find a way to follow Holtz into the Quor-toth dimension and bring his son back home. Guest Stars: John Rubinstein Laurel Holloman Stephanie Romanov Jack Conley My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one as well. Wesley has a long road ahead of him to get Angel to forgive him and trust him again. At this point the only thing Angel wants is to see Wesley dead. I can understand it too... why didn't Wesley go to the team... a team he considered family... with the information he had and try to figure things out that way? It would have saved a whole lot of grief. My Rating: ![]() (From Angel Marathon on March 14th, 2010) |
