With only a few days left... I thought it was about time to set this thread up...

It is once again time for my annual 25 Days of Christmas Marathon. Every year between Dec. 1st and Dec. 25th I am sure to watch at least 1 Christmas Movie, 1 Christmas episode or  1 Christmas Special per day.

The way I think I will do it this year... is for the most part... I will continue watching as I normally do. That is TV Show during the the week (Mon. - Thurs.) and Movies during the weekend (Fri. - Sun.)... though there will be exceptions as the mood hits. (http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/09/097361395340f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: The Sixth Season
NCIS: THE SIXTH SEASON finds the highly skilled NCIS team still under the able command of Special Agent Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), an uncompromising leader who will see justice done – even if it means bending the rules. This season, Gibbs welcomes new members to the unit, while directing the veteran agents in their dangerous investigations outside the chain of Naval and Marine command. Co-starring Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, Sean Murray, Cote de Pablo, and Rocky Carroll, this 6-disc set includes all 25 action-packed Season 6 episodes, along with high-caliber, behind-the-scenes special features.

Episode Watched:
SILENT NIGHT
Working on a double homicide over Christmas, the team uncovers the truth about a prime suspect thought to have died 17 years previously – as well as a shocking personal revelation.

My Thoughts:
I thought I would start this year's marathon with one of my favorite current series. This is a good Christmas episode. I definitely enjoyed it. I kinda go a kick out of the ending where Tony got most all the group together to watch a Christmas movie. It fit his character perfectly since he been quoting movies from the very beginning of the series.

(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/02/024543267287f.jpg) (http://www.invelos.com/images/DVDLogo.png)Bones: Season One
David Boreanaz (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars as F.B.I. Agent Seeley Booth, who teams up with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to solve some of the most baffling and bizarre crimes ever. Booth depends on clues from the living, witnesses and suspects, while Brennan gathers evidence from the dead, relying on her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the bones of the victims. Their different investigative styles cause the two to frequently clash, creating an undeniable chemistry and just the right touch of dark humor. Inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs and state-of-the-art criminal invenstigation procedures, Bones is compelling, cutting-edge television.

Episode Watched:
THE MAN IN THE FALLOUT SHELTER
The team is quarantined and must remain in the lab over Christmas when the examination of a corpse trips the building's biohazard system.

My Thoughts:
This is an excellent episode. Bones has a great cast that has wonderful chemistry together. I think this was a very good way to do a Christmas episode for this series. The story was well done... I really liked the hologram Christmas Tree Angela made... as well as all the gifts they made for each other. Not to mention the case they were working on... they even made it good for the season. Definitely one I would recommend.

My Thoughts:
Last year Brittany gave me this DVD out of her collection because she didn't care for it. So I went into this one not expecting much. And it is a good thing. While there is a decent base story... they didn't do so well with it. It really should have been much better. But as it is... it is barely an average show... if that.  I never been much on music as most of you already know... and even I knew some of the songs in this cartoon was out of place. Anyway... I wasn't too impressed with this one... but what can you expect from an animated movie based on a silly song?

Title: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: Special Edition
Year: 1989
Director: Jeremiah Chechik
Rating: PG-13
Length: 97 Min.

Plot:
This holiday season Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) vows his clan will enjoy "the most fun-filled family Christmas ever." Before you can sing "Fa-la-la-la-lah," he decks the halls with howls of folly in the perennial favorite National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Seeing is believing. There are 25,000 lights on the roof. An exploding turkey on the dining room table. A SWAT team taking siege outside. A festive supporting cast (including Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Juliette Lewis, William Hickey and more). And a John Hughes script full of wit, heart and sheer goofiness. Yule love it!

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed quite a bit. It wasn't quite as good as the first Vacation movie... but felt it was better then both European Vacation and Vegas Vacation. As usual they played around with the kids in the family once again... but this time not only did they change the actors playing them... they made the kids younger as well. And surprisingly for the Christmas movie... the kids really took a back seat in this one... not having much to do in the story at all this time. In this one they have Johnny Galecki playing their son... who most of us know now playing Leonard on The Big Bang Theory.... and Juliette Lewis playing their daughter... who I personally know best from her part as the preacher's daughter in From Dusk till Dawn. Anyway... I found this movie to be a lot of fun... has a few good laugh out loud moments. I can easily see this one become part of my annual Christmas viewing.

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I seen this one in many years. It is one that I always enjoyed... is just a fun film. A nice mixture of comedy and just a dash of horror set during the Christmas season. A good movie to just turn your brain off... relax and enjoy. I am sure this is another one that will become an annual viewing at Christmas time. I always liked Gizmo on these movies... but the actual gremlins are definitely good for a few silly laughs as well.

My Thoughts:
I been looking forward to checking this one out since I first found out a friend was sending me a copy.... and my daughter Brittany showed me the trailer. Sure this one is very silly... but it works. I enjoyed every minute of it. I liked that this one has Ed Asner playing Santa. Bob Newhart as the head Elf was pretty good as well. I can see myself watching this movie around Christmas time in the future as well... it is just a fun and silly show.

Title: A Very Brady Christmas
Year: 1988
Director: Hal Sutherland
Rating: NR
Length: 94 Min.

Stars:
Florence Henderson as Carol Brady
Robert Reed as Mike Brady
Ann B. Davis as Alice
Maureen McCormick as Marcia
Eve Plumb as Jan
Jennifer Runyon as Cindy
Barry Williams as Greg
Christopher Knight as Peter
Michael Lookinland as Bobby

Plot:
Mike and Carol Brady decide to spend their savings on bringing their kids and relatives in for the holidays, but the kids are having their own problems: Greg (now a doctor) has to make the trip alone since his wife Nora is spending the holidays with her family; Peter is embarrassed to bring his girlfriend home since she is his boss; Bobby is hiding the fact that he dropped out of business grad school to race cars; Marcia's husband, Wally, has been laid off from his job at Tyler Toys; Jan and stuffy husband Phillip are separating; and Cindy is tired of the fact that mom and dad can't respect her as a grown woman. Just another day in the life of the Bradys.

My Thoughts:
For some reason I like the Brady Bunch reunion movies more then I do the actual series. This one in particular. For some reason this movie gets me in the mood for Christmas. Something that has been difficult for me the past several years. Seeing a large family celebrating Christmas of my childhood Holidays where I was the youngest child of a large family. It was fun to see most of the cast back after all the years that past. The reunion movies in this complete series set is the main reason I bought the complete series set... instead of the individual seasons. Since that is the only way to get them.

Written and produced by John Hughes ("101 Dalmatians"), this madcap slapstick adventure features an all-star supporting cast including Catherine O’Hara and John Heard as Kevin’s parents, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the burglars, and John Candy ("Planes, Trains and Automobiles") as the "Polka King of the Midwest."

My Thoughts:
This is one that I haven't seen in many years! I can't believe this movie is already 20 years old! I used to see this one on cable every year at Christmas time a good 10 years ago... but for some reason I haven't seen it on much at all anymore. I am glad I got the opportunity to see it again... there is many good laughs in it... but I must admit that it wasn't quite as funny as I remembered it being. Though I do see myself watching it again next year. I even feel lucky to find part 2 playing on cable later this week... so set my recorder for it.

My Thoughts:
I got this one for my marathon last year... so this is my second time watching it. Before last year I didn't even know who Jeff Dunham was. Now this is to become a yearly tradition. This guy is just freaking hilarious! I really liked all his characters... my favorite is a toss-up between Achmed and Peanut. I watched this along with Britt... and let me tell you... I thought Britt was going to laugh so hard that she would pee herself! I wasn't expecting to like a ventriloquist as much as I liked this one. Brittany and I actually had to pause it more then once to catch our breathe from all the laughter and be able to hear what he had to say next. It is just as good on the second viewing as it was on the first. If you never checked this guy out before... I highly recommend it!

THE SANTA IN THE SLUSH
It's up to Bones to save Christmas when the body of a shopping mall Santa named Kris Kringle seems to be the real McCoy.

My Thoughts:
I imagine this is because of the writer's strike... but the third season Christmas episode came pretty early the year this one came out. Airing at the end of November. It is a fun episode... I had to laugh at how Caroline (The Assistant US Attorney) made Booth and Brennan kiss under mistletoe in order to do a favor for them. Other then that... it has a decent mystery and I liked the story of Brennan's father getting a Christmas in jail.

My Thoughts:
Not only is this one of my favorite Christmas episodes to watch each year... it is one of my favorite episodes of X-Files. This episode has 2 big named guest stars in Ed Asner and Lily Tomlin. How The Ghosts Stole Christmas takes place in (and some outside) a haunted house the entire episode only has the 4 actors in it. And I think they all did a great job.

A little bit Buffy. A little bit Bogart. A dash of Nancy Drew. Veronica Mars takes the best and brainiest of the American culture of crimesolving and adds a unique vision of its own – brooding, edgy, darkly funny and just plain dark – to become one of the hottest, sleekest series of the new century.

Veronica (Kristen Bell) is an outcast in a trendy SoCal beach town.  Once she ran with Neptune High's in crowd. But she's on the outside after her best friend is murdered and her sheriff father accuses the wrong man as the perp: the dead girl's billionaire father. Dad loses his job, Veronica loses her popularity and both struggle to build a detective agency and new lives. E-mail scams, cults, car thefts – you name it, Veronica investigates it. But her obsession is the murder of her friend. And she'll take any risk to solve it.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. There was two mysteries in this episode. One for Veronica to solve. And one for her father. Of course Veronica's mystery was the more interesting mystery to watch. I really didn't find myself caring too much about the mystery Keith was working on. But either way a good show... well worth watching.

My Thoughts:
This is part of a boxset that I got called The Original Christmas Classics... it is in a set of 7 specials. This is one I haven't seen since I was a kid. I always liked the character of Mr. Magoo. And I always liked the story of A Christmas Carol... but the one thing I don't like about this special is all the music they use in it. That is the one downfall of this show in my personal opinion. I am happy to say that the quality of the release is much nicer then I was expecting... for some reason I wasn't expecting too much quality wise. but I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of this set.

A funny, moving and enlightening look at the true spirit of the Christmas season.

My Thoughts:
This is a TV Movie I recently recorded of cable. Not a bad movie... entertaining and has a few chuckles in it... but really isn't much more then that. Holiday TV Classics and Holiday Family Favorites. This is a very cute little cartoon. One that is before my time... but I do remember watching toons like this when I was a kid. Though they were obviously in reruns at the time. But I must say... they don't make cartoons like this anymore... and was an enjoyable blast from the past. It really reminded me of a simpler time. I got a kick how they made all the orphans in this animated short look exactly alike... except just changed the hair and night gown colors. Well all except the one infant orphan... but that one was barely in the short. And yes this is an early color short... as you can see by the screen cap above.

My Thoughts:
I've always liked the comedy of Abbott and Costello... so the comedy sections of this classic variety hour show was a lot of fun. But it did have a little bit more singing and dancing then I was comfortable with. So my enjoyment of the episode did take a hit because of it. Being a part of the Holiday Family Collection boxset I just got I wasn't expecting too much quality wise as it is a set from Mill Creek Entertainment. In Mistletoe Manor, King Nicholas XX, commonly known as Santa Claus (Oscar and Emmy nominee Charles Durning, Hard Time), and his wife Carlotta (Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Katherine Helmond, Who's The Boss?), aren't feeling particularly jolly. With Christmas only weeks away, the aging king is ready to pass his throne to the Crown Prince, Nick St. Nicholas (Golden Globe and Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer, Animal Farm). But the sexy Santa-to-be is a no-show heir with other priorities-his lavish seaside estate, leggy newswoman Heidi Gardelle (Elaine Hendrix, The Parent Trap), and public relations expert Hector Villarba (Luis Garcia, American Family). Heidi and Victor may not know Nick's true identity, but they do know he is the prince of benefits. Their plan? Use his knockout connections to create an on-line holiday charity. Nick's all for it. Unfortunately, the problems are just beginning. A charge of fraud has turned Nick's charity into a nationwide scandal. What's it going to take to prevent Christmas from becoming a dim memory? Nothing short of a miracle.

My Thoughts:
Another movie I recorded off cable. To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from this one. I don't know... Kelsey Grammer as the son of Santa... just didn't seem like the ideal fit to me. But to be honest... I actually enjoyed this more then I thought I would. Sure some of it was right silly.... but over-all it works. One Kris Kringle, a department-store Santa Claus, causes quite a commotion by suggesting customers go to a rival store for their purchases. But this is nothing to the stir he causes by announcing that he is not merely a make-believe St. Nick, but the real McCoy.

My Thoughts:
I got this 1955 version of the movie in the Holiday Family Collection boxset. It stars Thomas Mitchell as Kris Kringle. It is very similar to... but a cut down version of the 1947 classic. This movie only lasted about 45minutes total. while it is very similar... they did change a couple small details. But nothing that changes the story in any way. Quality wise this one impressed me quite a bit. There was a couple minor flaws... but for being in on of those cheap Mill Creek boxsets it was impressive non the less. I think the entire cast did a fine job. I especially liked Sandy Descher... the child actress that played young Susan.

I was a little worried when I first ordered the Holiday Family Collection boxset... as it is a pretty big boxset (12 movies, 49 TV episodes & 27 Christmas Shorts) for only $9.49... but with the few I watched already I feel like it was a worth while purchase.

Since it's only 45 minutes long, this probably isn't really a movie but an episode of a TV anthology series.  They had those back then.  I was wondering who played the Maureen O'Hara part (the mother of the girl) in this.  Was it anyone with a familiar name?  I am familiar with Thomas Mitchell who's been in a lot of well-known classic films such as Stagecoach and It's A Wonderful Life.

Christmas is coming and Santa's house is buzzing with activity, but somehow the old boy's heart isn't in it this year. Disillusioned with all the selfishness and greed in the world, Santa is ready to throw in the towel but his daughter Kristin (Kathy Ireland) persuades him to give the mortals one last chance. If she can prove that even one family can change and become giving and caring again, Santa will put off his vacation in Hawaii and get back on the sleigh. Trouble is she's saddled with the Morgans, a family with a workaholic Dad (John Dye) and a couple of kids whose idea of good clean fun is putting peanut butter in the au pair's underwear and permaglue on the school coach's whistle. And with a sister who makes Cruella De Vil look like the cutest pup in the shop ready to wreck her plans, can Kristin teach them that what you give is what you get, and stop the spirit of Christmas from disappearing - forever?

My Thoughts:
This movie stars Kathy Ireland as Santa's daughter. I think she does a great job. This movie hit a special place for me... what with tragedy striking during the Holiday season. So I definitely enjoyed this one. Though I don't care to much for the ending. I mean the ending works... but it felt a little rushed. Next up I will be watching some more Kathy Ireland when I watch this movie's sequel... Twice Upon a Christmas.

Kristin Claus, now a devoted nanny to the Morgan family, is suffering from acute memory loss. Little does she know that her father is Santa Clause, living in the North Pole with her mother, Mrs. Claus, and mischievous sister, Rudolpha.

As Kristin grows closer to the Morgan family the answer to who she is seems ever more elusive. But then a big surprise - a proposal of marriage from Bill! Torn between her love for the Morgans and the life she can't remember, she agrees to marry Bill on Christmas Day - but only if they first solve the mystery of her identity.

Back at the North Pole, trouble is brewing. in Kristin's absence, the scheming Rudolpha sets about sabotaging Christmas. To clear the way for a lucrative property deal, she launches a TV advertising campaign to sell off the Pole, piece by piece. Christmas is under threat. Santa could be out of a job!

With Christmas fast approaching, Kristin is still struggling for answers. When a bizarre coincidence helps everything to click into place, Kristin realizes that she must again save Christmas or see Santa forced into early retirement!

This quirky and uplifting sequel to Once Upon a Christmas, will captivate the kids and amuse the adults. A festive tale with plenty of twists.

My Thoughts:
While still enjoyable... I didn't care for this one as much as the first one. With Kristen having amnesia through most of the movie there wasn't as much Christmas magic in this one. But still... this one is worth watching at least once.

Jenny McCarthy and George Wendt star in this heartwarming comedy about Santa Claus' daughter. When Santa Claus (George Wendt) gets too sick to run the toy shop, his workaholic daughter Mary (Jenny McCarthy) leaves behind her high-powered job in the city and heads north. Will Mary's new ideas and her relentless drive for efficiency save Christmas, or will Christmas need to save her first?

My Thoughts:
Ok... what did I think of this one? Jenny McCarthy... in some scenes I liked her... but yet in others it felt like she could have done better. I was surprised that I liked George Wendt as Santa. Don't get me wrong... I always liked George Wendt... he is always fun to watch... but for some reason he doesn't pop to my mind when I think of Santa. What would happen if Santa Claus forgot who he was? After a tumble from his sleigh one wintry night, Old Saint Nick (Leslie Nielsen) bumps his head and develops a case of amnesia. Now, it's up to the innocence of a young child and the know-how of a skeptical news reporter to help him find his identity and save Christmas Day. During their adventures, Santa isn't the only one who recalls the magical spirit of the holidays.

My Thoughts:
I watched this episode from a Best of DVD called Christmas Treats... it has a Christmas episode of 9 different series.

It has been many years since I seen an episode of The Odd Couple. I forgot how much I really enjoyed this show. I will definitely have to add some season sets to my collection soon. This particular episode is a lot of fun. Oscar makes a good Scrooge. And I had to laugh at Murray as Tiny Tim. For Christmas Felix give Oscar a custom made music box that looks like a trashcan... when you open the lid it plays a tune. For some reason... when Oscar opened the lid... all I could think of was Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street.

I watched this episode from a Best of DVD called Christmas Treats... it has a Christmas episode of 9 different series.

This is a fun episode. I definitely enjoyed it. But as for the Christmas aspect to it... Christmas was really no more then a background for the episode. But I must admit I got a kick out of Arnold in the elf costume to take a picture for Fonzie's Christmas cards.

My Thoughts:
I watched this episode from a Best of DVD called Christmas Treats... it has a Christmas episode of 9 different series.

I always remembered this to be a good show... but not quite as good as Happy Days... which it spun off of. But I must say... I enjoyed this one just as much as the Happy Days episode I watched. This episode has a few good laughs in it. Lenny and Squiggy providing most the laughs. And the story is actually about Christmas this time... it isn't just the background. Which is always a plus.

My Thoughts:
While I have seen small bits and pieces of this movie on cable over the years... this is actually the first time I got to see this one from start to finish. It is a fun movie... I definitely enjoyed it. Though from all the years of hearing about this one... I think I was expecting more from it... and felt it didn't live up to it's reputation for me. But it definitely had some decent laughs in it. OMG... that terrible gift from his aunt... the bunny pajamas... and the fact that his mother liked it so much was scary as well. I do think the story was over exaggerated... but I believe that was on purpose. After all it was supposed to be a guy telling the story about a childhood Christmas.

My Thoughts:
This is more my eldest brother's time then mine. But I have seen some episodes in reruns when I was a kid. But to be completely honest I really remember extremely little about it going into this one. While I see this as really nice for nostalgic reasons... it really is geared 100% to the younger kids. Since I remembered next to nothing about this show to get anything from the nostalgia of it... I really had a hard time getting through this one... even though it is only an 8 minute clip. The one fun memory from this show that I had was Clarabell the Clown. So it was at least fun watching him again.

When the express office is robbed, all the evidence points to the old man, but Annie suspects he's been framed for the crime.

This is the first time I ever seen any episode of Annie Oakley. But it definitely looks like a show I would enjoy. As I have said many times before I always liked a strong woman... and a female sharpshooter in the old west is definitely that. I enjoyed this show... but for a holiday episode like this it is lacking a little. But taking in account that they are limited with what they can do in a story set in this time period... it is good.

I have a 2-disc set of Annie Oakley featuring 12 episodes but I don't think this is one of those episodes.  It sounds like a fun one, though.  I'd love it if they added this to the Westerns channel I get.  But they don't seem to show any of the TV westerns aimed at the younger crowd like this one is.

I actually think I rated it a little low... while 3 is a good score (out of 5)... I think 3 and a half would have been better. I went a little heavy on it not being as much of a Christmas episode as other shows are (traditional Christmas)... but like I said... how could it be? Think I will fix that.

This 1949 version of a Christmas Carol with Vincent Price aired live on US television at Christmas. It's still a magic!

My Thoughts:
I wasn't sure what to expect when I decided to watch this one. My main reason to wanting to watch it is that I am such a big fan of Vincent Price. But when I went to look up a little background info on it before watching it I learned it was only 25min long Christmas special that aired (apparently) live back in 1949. For some reason this concerned me. But it shouldn't have... as I found this to just be a fun and simple telling of the classic story. It has some low production value as well. Even with the low production value I found I liked how they did the ghosts. Which has always been important to me for any version of this story. The only thing Vincent Price does for this show is hosts and narrates it. But it is enough as it does go to him reading the book for short periods through-out the entire story. They did change a couple things that I am not sure how I feel about... like Scrooge's initial reaction to Marley's ghost. I am used to seeing him not believe it and completely ignore the warning...  but in this one his initial reaction is belief and fear. Also I am used to all three ghosts visiting him within the one night... but in this one it is 1 ghost per night for 3 nights. I am surprised to say this about a TV Special as old as this one... but this is one I will be looking forward to very much... every year! If you are a fan of this story... and are able to find this TV Special (I got mine in the Holiday Family Collection from Mill Creek Entertainment)... I definitely recommend checking it out!

This series revolves around newly married Vicki Angel (Betty White) and her insurance salesman husband Gus Angel (Bill Williams) who get themselves and their friends and neighbors into various comedic situations. The series ran for 33 episodes from 1957-1958.

Episode Watched:
Santa's Helper
Vickie tries to find a suitable outlet for Mr. Finley, Sr.'s energy, so she enlists the help of her friend Dolly to get him a job in the local department store as one of Santa's helpers. Her plan backfires when Mr. Finley - as Santa - starts to give out free toys to all the children who meet with him, with the skinflint toy department manager on the hook for the unwitting expenditure.

My Thoughts:
This is a series I never even heard of before. It is a show I found in the  Holiday Family Collection set that I recently got. As soon as I read that it was a series that starred Betty White I wanted to check it out. The first thing I would say is... wow... Betty White was quite the looker in her day. The friend Dolly is played by Nancy Kulp of Beverly Hillbillies fame. Another familiar face is Richard Deacon (The Dick Van Dyke Show)... as well as a name you may not recognize... but you would the face. Burt Mustin... who is an old time character actor. The show itself... while entertaining... didn't impress me too much going by this single episode. Nothing more then an average sitcom.

This is a classic sitcom I always enjoyed. I only ever seen a small handful of episodes. And unfortunately they have always been on cheap DVDs where the quality had much to be desired. Tim Allen is back in the big red suit for more adventures and laughs in Disney's hilarious family comedy. Get ready for a thrilling sleigh ride as the reluctant Santa Claus faces his most chilling and hysterical challenge yet.

As Christmas nears, Scott Calvin invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) to join the festivities. The holidays take a chaotic turn when Scott discovers a way out of his "Santa Clause" and the mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short) puts the big freeze on Christmas's big cheese! Unless Scott can save the day, it's going to be a very chilly Frostmas at the North Pole and all around the world. Will Scott be able to get his job back in the St. Nick of time?

Celebrate the holidays with The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, complete with exclusive bonus materials, including a musical Christmas Carol-oke feature. It's a gift the whole family will treasure.

My Thoughts:
This is another one that I recorded off of cable recently. I don't feel it quite held up to the first 2 parts... but I still enjoyed it a lot. While the storyline with Jack Frost left me a little cold (Sorry... couldn't help myself)... I though Martin Short was a good choice for the role. I also liked the whole family reunion at the North Pole thing. I hope to add this one to my DVD collection before next year.

High-spirited high jinks on Christmas Eve put Frank Cross (Bill Murray) in a ghostly time warp in this hilarious take-off of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Cross, who has made the meteoric rise from the depths of the mailroom to TV network president, is mean, nasty, uncaring, unforgiving and has a sadistic sense of humor - perfect qualities for a modern-day Scrooge.

Before the night is over, he'll be visited by a maniacal New York cab driver from the past, a present-day fairy who's into pratfalls and, finally, a ghoulish, seven-foot headless messenger from the future.

My Thoughts:
This is another one I recorded off of cable... one I haven't seen in several years. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is just a fun spoof off of the Christmas classic. I thought Bill Murray was great in it... as was most all the cast. Definitely one I hope to add to my DVD Collection.

In this modern update of the beloved 1947 film classic, six-year-old Susan has doubts about childhood's most enduring miracle - Santa Claus. But after meeting a special department store Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all - something to believe in. Starring Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkins, Dylan McDermott and Mara Wilson as Susan, this uplifting and joyous film will make believers out of the entire family.

My Thoughts:
I recorded this one off of cable. While enjoyable... this remake just does not compare to the classic. It is missing a lot of the charm that made the original version so good. I also didn't care for the change to the ending of the court case in this one. I won't be in too much of a hurry to adding this one to my DVD Collection.

(http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/02/025195004589f.jpg) The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries: Season 2: Will the Real Santa...
The distinction between who's naughty and who's nice becomes blurred as Nancy works to restore the honor of a gentleman who is accused of burglary -- and who claims to be Santa Claus.

My Thoughts:
Now this one is a real trip down memory lane! I used to love this show when I was no more then a little tyke. This is one of the episodes that Pamela Sue Martin played Nancy Drew (Janet Louise Johnson [AKA Janet Julian] took over shortly after). And she happens to be my favorite Nancy Drew to date. This is a good episode. It is strong on the holiday spirit... at the same time has a good mystery. Actually it has 2 mysteries. One being the Christmas Burglar and the other being the two men that are following Griffin throughout the entire episode. After having this set for a few years now... this episode is becoming a regular addition to my Christmas Marathon.

The townspeople are livid when they discover that a woman schoolteacher, who is also supposed to play Mary in the upcoming Christmas pageant, is a transexual.

My Thoughts:
OMG... this must be one of the most preachy, self-righteous shows that was ever created... but even so it is still so very addictive at the same time. It is one of those shows I hate myself for enjoying so much! But I blame it on the fact that a young Holly Marie Combs is in it... yeah... that's it... that is my story and I am sticking to it! Even though Holly Marie Comb's part was fairly limited in this episode... she did make a strong appearance. I really liked how in the end it was the children standing up to the adults that did the trick. Yes... there is times when you can learn something from your kids.

The day before Christmas is anything but jolly after Brock catches his daughter having sex; Kimberly's birthmother, Sheriff Brock's first wife, arrives. An angry and delusional Santa Claus takes Max and Ginny hostage.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the first shows I ever seen do 2 Christmas episodes within one season. I liked this one a little more then I did the last one... but that could be because it has more Holly Marie Combs in it! Still a preachy show?.... yes! But in this case I think I would have reacted much like the father on this show did. I couldn't imagine walking in on my daughter having sex... I definitely would have went off! I probably would have hurt the boy... and spent Christmas in jail.

The day before Christmas is anything but jolly after Brock catches his daughter having sex; Kimberly's birthmother, Sheriff Brock's first wife, arrives. An angry and delusional Santa Claus takes Max and Ginny hostage.

My Thoughts:
Three of the four years that Lois and Clark was on the air they had a Christmas episode. And out of the 3 Christmas episodes... this one is my favorite. I thought the story was a lot of fun... and thought that Howie Mandel was a great choice as MR. MXYZPTLK.

Batman saves the day with a little help from some friends!
Nothing stops Batman and his quest for justice in these four action-packed episodes from the thrilling new series!  Allied with DC Super Heros Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle and Red Tornado, Batman faces villainous masterminds, intergalictic crooks and evil dictators in out-of-this-world adventures that take him through a wormhole, to the depths of the ocean and on a Christmastime crimestopping campaign against an army of toys!  This fresh version of the legendary hero mixes the cool, confident "Bats" (as he's known to his buddies) with high-stakes peril and awesome showdowns for universe-shaking excitement you can't miss!

Episode Watched:
Invasion of the Secret Santas!
After Batman battles the Sportsmaster with Blue Beetle, he teams up with the Red Tornado to battle Fun Haus, who plans to ruin Christmas for everyone with his army of toys.

My Thoughts:
I decided on the Christmas episode for my first taste of this animated Batman series. Wow... what do I think about this one? It definitely has a different feel to it. I like how the episodes has more (lesser known?) heroes in it. In the beginning of this one The Blue Beetle is with Batman. He seems pretty cool... I think I will like him. but for the majority of this episode it is with the Red Tornado. This is a robotic superhero... and I don't care much for him. I also found it a little odd that Batman actually cracked a few jokes in this episode. So he isn't as dark as I am used to seeing him. Over-all not bad... I definitely enjoyed it. But I am not yet sure what I think of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
