My stay in NYC is almost over, I'm going back home next Monday. While I was here I saw a few movies on TV that I had never seen or even heard of. I thought maybe we could play a little guessing game with this.
Here's how it works.
You will ask me questions that I can answer with a single word. You can join anytime you want, post as many questions as you want and anytime you want, try guessing anytime you want.
If I cannot answer a question with a single word I will ask that the question is restated.
We'll start with one movie and once someone has found the title we'll decide if we're all up for another one.
The only rules concern the type of question. It cannot be one that would force me to give words from the title or names of characters, cast or crew.
You can however ask if John Doe directed it or if Jane Doe played in it and I will answer with Yes or No.

Does it more or less than 3000 votes on imdb?
Which year is it from?
What is the main genre?

Q: Does it more or less than 3000 votes on imdb?
A: More
Q: Which year is it from?
A: 2007
Q: What is the main genre?
A: Biography

Persepolis?
-
No !
I'm baffled by the 3000 votes question. It seems very arbitrary, why not 3500 or 5000 ?

What sort of work is the person the film about famous for? (music/politics etc etc)
-
Writing
-
Becoming Jane?
-
Correct !
I had the felling that "Biography" would make it a lot easier but it would have been dishonest for me to say "Drama"

Ready for the next one ?

My stay in NYC is almost over...
Hopefully, you watched the Zulawski retrospective at the BAM.

Honestly, I haven't seen anything in NY. I only went out once to get myself a nice dinner for my birthday back in January. The rest of the time I was so tired from work that I only wanted to stay "home" and rest.

That's too bad. NY was a pretty awesome place to be the last couple of months. All films you don't easily get to see on the big screen (or at all, since in quite a few cases they aren't even available on DVD). Aside from the Zulawski retrospective that just ended, there also was the Bresson retrospective in January and the Béla Tarr retrospective in February. And that's just the stuff I took notice of from afar.
