So who is in and how do we do this? After all, it's a rather short series and normally I'd simply finish it over the weekend. If you guys would do the same, then we could just 3+3...?

Another thought I had was, we could do one at a time and always wait until everyone posted their review before moving on to the next one. (Kind of a bit of self-torture, honoring what Pete is putting himself through a little bit...)

I will watch them in a row, we're talking about a bit more than two hours here.

"IT department. Have you tried turning off and then on again?" :hysterical:

1. From Hell
A great start into the third series, showing right away that Graham Linehan still has it in him (which he will hopefully keep proving throughout the next episodes). Was laughing at the opening credits (had forgotten about them) and then the laughs just kept coming.

03. Tramps Like Us (2008-12-05)

This episode wasn't so good. The storylines were all done thousand times before and except for a few lines, it wasn't really funny.

2. Are We Not men?
Hilarious how Roy and Moss blend in with "proper men"; bluffball.com provides the needed phrases for conversation on a daily basis. There is a few scenes that have less laughs than usual but they are needed to set up the plot and the whole episode feels more complete that way.

...and of course there is also the driving instructor. :D

This episode was a lot of fun again. The guys giving Jen the "internet" for a speech :)

3. Tramps Like Us
Trying to say something shouldn't be in the way of the comedy. Too much time was spent with too little meaning (the Roy thread) and the rest was pretty much all over the place (from a few good laughs all the way to cringe-worthy). It's still funny, just not as funny as it should be.

4. The Speech
Back to form after the slowdown that was episode 3 I had tears in my eyes from laughing. Jen is awarded Employee of the Month and must hold a speech for the stock holders. Roy and Moss decide to help in order to play a practical joke. Meanwhile Douglas has an affair with a reporter who has an unusual past, but he doesn't care. Both storylines ultimately come together in a hilarious climax.

5. Friendface
Social network Friendface on the internet has everyone going crazy. Roy reconnects unwillingly with an old girlfriend of his, whom Jen suggests he should tell in person why they broke up. Jen on the other hand meets old school friends and is invited to the reunion. Intending to show off she takes Moss to pretend ot be her husband. All this plays out with an array of good jokes and on the side mocks social networks and the problems they create.

6. Calendar Geeks
When repairing some computer on the 7th floor Roy agree to help with a charity; for boss-eyedness, of which one of the colleagues brothers suffers. For the charity they agree to create a nude calendar, but obviously things don't turn out as Roy had hoped... A nice conclusion of this series/season with the show going out in top form. Not the best of the bunch but a great one.

:bag:

I just followed Tom. Seems he got busy with something, can't see why he held back with episode 6 otherwise. Unless he actually wanted to give you a chance to catch up.

On the good side, you can see by the table in the opening post that you should be in for a good time.

Oh, thanks! I forgot to post my review  :bag:
I had it watched right after the fifth episode

06. Calendar Geeks (2008-12-26)
Writer: Graham Linehan (Writer)
Director: Graham Linehan
Cast: Chris O'Dowd (Roy), Richard Ayoade (Moss), Katherine Parkinson (Jen), Matt Berry (Douglas), Alexandra Weaver (Kimberly), Ty Glaser (Nadine), Ben Moor (Paul), Hazel Douglas (Joan), Hywel John (Dave), Jacob Edwards (Niall), Lewis Macleod (Charity Voice (voice))

My least favorite episode from the bunch. I think a lot has to do that Moss was missing a lot in this episode (I hadn't noticed his absence though like the other characters did )

that was shocking, wasn't it. And probably exactly what the filmmakers intended

Season 3

From Hell
Synopsis: Jen has a builder in her home and Roy is quite sure (99% ... 60/40) that he's seen him on "Builders from Hell". Now Jen can't let him out of her eyesight. Meanwhile Moss is bullied by some guys in the park and Douglas shoots himself in the leg with his father's service revolver.

My Opinion: A great start to the new season. Love to see Jen getting more and more paranoid and Roy re-evaluating his surety. And I loved Moss' role-playing and trying to find a snappy comeback. I never cared much for Douglas though. I liked his father better.

Are We Not Men?
Synopsis: Moss has found a website that allows him to use the right sentences about last night's football game. Roy tries it, too and gets them both to hang out with a bunch of real men. But these new friends are not what they appear to be. Meanwhile Jen is dating a guy that looks like a stage magician.

My Opinion: I am a German and I never cared much for football either. This week a player returned from FC Barcelona to the VfB Stuttgart and a friend of mine couldn't be happier about it - I couldn't care less, the only thing I found interesting was that the player's name is "Hleb" which is a transcription of the russian хлеб* and means "bread". Back to topic. I enjoyed to watch Roy panicking in the car after the robbery and also in their hideout. And I found it hilarious that Moss took the money just to count it. ;D

* Remember when Christopher Plummer said "to be or not to be" in klingon? The "Х" letter sounds pretty much like the "H" in taH pagh taHbe'.

Tramps Like Us
Synopsis: Jen is applying for a new job in a different company but fails to explain what "IT" stands for. Meanwhile Roy crashes a minute of silence for a dead colleague and lands himself on the streets not even having a shirt anymore. And Moss is in his "happy place" while Douglas gets tasered every time he gets aroused.

My Opinion: What I liked about this episode was Roy's "walkabout" in the streets and Jen's attempts at not having to say what "IT" actually stands for . But I didn't really like the entire harassment storyline and Moss' part in it.

The Speech
Synopsis: Jen was awarded with the "Employee of the Month". But now she has to give a speech to the shareholders. And the speech is about her area of expertise - meaning IT. Roy and Moss are so generous and lend her "the internet", a black box (wireless of course, everything is wireless nowadays) that what demagnetized by Stephen Hawking himself.

My Opinion: One of my favourite episodes of the show. I simply love the entire scene when they let Jen borrow "the internet" (Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDbyYGrswtg)). And I love it when their prank totally backfires on the shareholder assembly.

Friendface
Synopsis: Jen has joined Friendface, a social networking site where you find all the people you never wanted to see again. Roy and Moss join also and soon Roy has to face a woman he dumped because she looks like Batman's Joker. And Jen is invited to a class reunion where she can't show up without her husband - Moss.

My Opinion: An obvious pun on Facebook which I really liked, especially the part about persons you'd rather not see again. Especially the "Joker" and Roy's attempts at "winning over" Jen made me laugh so hard.

Calendar Geeks
Synopsis: In order to organize a charity fundraiser the girls of the seventh floor want to make a nude calendar and Roy gets to photograph them. But Jen sabotages it and convinces the girls that it would be a far better idea to photograph their grannies - until she becomes responsible for the success of that calendar.

My Opinion: The Geek Calendar shooting was so funny, how Roy had to convince Moss and the others to get into certain poses was so hilarious.

The Season - My Opinion: Too bad that UK seasons are always this short, I am quite certain that the writers would have no problem to come up with more ideas. But it is as it is.

Karsten, you want to rate the episodes (for the table on page 1)?

BTW, in the Interview on the disc Graham Lineham said that he felt he had two killer episodes and two great ones, seems he agrees with me  He also said that he thinks from his side he could two maybe two more series/seasons of this
