Once upon a time Najjers ventured on a journey.
His journey took him to many glorious places. One of which was through the fabled city of Sheffield in the land of South Yorkshire.
His exploration of the legendary Steel City took him to once magnificent ediface, called The Crucible.
The Crucible......home of many titanic feuds. Gladiatorial combat. mano-y-mano. The forces of Light and Darkness battling on the green baize. Clashes the likes of which, even the Gods themselves feared.
But to the weary eyes of our traveller the building looked as though it was in need of the attention of a master craftsman and the mythical Sandtex masonary paint.

Let's if you can spot a very famous sound / theme in there:I had to read in the comments at YouTube what is is. Didn't hear it at all (then again, it seems to be the old version way before I cared about such things....)

This isn't YouTube, but have you heard about the sketch Edward Norton took part in on Jimmy Kimmel (http://www.joblo.com/video/joblo/player.php?video=GMO-HULK)?
More of a technical question; maybe someone is more familiar with youtube than me or knows a trick otherwise:
YouTube recently decided it would be a cool idea to identify my location thorugh my IP and then adjust the language accordingly. So, when I surf to www.youtube.com I get transferred to tw.youtube.com and instantly feel illiterate :-\ Now, Google basically does the same, but they always give me the "Google.com in English" link at the bottom, so it's easy to switch (and memorized for a while via cookie...). However, YouTube seems to have forgotten about us expats and I don't see such link, so I am stuck with the Chinese every time I get there. (Yes, there are the flags in the top right corner, but those don't offer US and are also very temporary.
Anyone has an idea how I can tell YouTube that my English reading abilities are better than my Chinese?
Are you logged in at YT?

Actually, I meant that it is currently election time in Canada right now as well. Unless you are too in Germany as we speak ;)That depends on your point of view. In two weeks time, there are elections for the local parliament "Landestag" of the Bundesland (state) Bavaria. Next year there are elections for our national parliament "Bundestag" but the campaigning has already begun.

Not necessarily. There was an interview done where I was working last year and of course you're told, but they don't babysit you. You want to arse about, it's up to you! I bet the cameraman spotted it and was wetting himself...
There's getting told and there's getting told.
Looking at the interview, the guy seems to be sitting too high in terms of perspective to the rest of the room, so I'm guessing he's either in a separate office with a window or an external feed of the office has been blue-screened behind him.
If either is the case, then it's possible that although the staff had probably been told an interview would take place at some point, they may not have been aware that it was happening at that time.
Still bloody funny... ;D

The best thing about this video is, that it is in fact only one person doing both parts. I had to look at the end credits and the description to make sure, that it is one person and not twins. Really done well. Especially because the guitar overlaps with the hand of the keyboard player. I only noticed one glitch (not counting the different shadows behind the persons).

It's a great little short film (30mins iirc). I've got it on DVD, and am dreadfully disappointed that the sequels alluded to on the official site never came to fruition. The DVD comes with some of the director's other shorts, but none are anything like Jasper.
I can't for the life of me understand how this did not win the Oscar for best short film?

I didn't watch the clip because I'm on a phone connection and it's a pain in the derriere to watch something on YouTube. But judging by the title, I found your reaction exaggerated. Depending of when and by who sometimes it's really enjoyable to get rough in this area
The flaw I am talking about is in one scene two girls are shown driving in the car, with the driver on the left side of the car.

And yeah the bear comment was cute.
Haha no, there was actually a tourism ad directed by him. It was to do with the film Australia though as they were both released at about the same time, and both starred the same young aboriginal boy in it. The film itself was probably part of the larger campaign but this is the ad I was talking about:That wasn't so bad. I like the first half at the very least.

Is it bad that when I watch this video, the only thing I feel is dissapointment that the bull didn't injure, or even kill more people?
*YouTube vid*
As far as the bull goes, good on him! Managed to injure 40 people in one go. But then I think of the thousands of bulls tortured and killed in this savage way every year, for hundreds of years and it makes me sick again. Maybe next time a bull attacks it will actually off some people, those creatures need revenge.
I started a separate thread for this, but thought it might get more plays here. Great song and the brother of a mate is in the band, just trying to get their break, so don't be shy about buying the single if you like it! :P

What's interesting is that this was captured by not just one camera but two different cameras.

I find it cute (seriously!) that there still are milk men in the UK. :)
I was watching an Australian game show on TV tonight and one of the guests was American. One of the questions had to do with a wheelie bin when the American asked 'what's a wheelie bin' which caused the audience to laugh heaps. But it got me wondering, what are wheelie bins called in the US? Can any Americans of the forum help me out here?
The wheelie-bins Jon is referring to are usually called dumpsters.
I have started seeing more of wheelie-bins here in the states. They are normally (my experience) called trash cans. That is what we had/have for trash, round metal cans with detached lids. These evolved from heavy steel cans to lighter aluminum to plastic.
Trailer trash is a derogatory term for poor people. Usually thought of as Southern Rednecks although not limited to that.
See Missouri Trailer Trash (http://www.missouritrailertrash.com/) for some examples.

Thanks for this explanation. I was always under the impression that trash can was the steel cans you described, like what Oscar the grouch lives in in Sesame Street, I didn't know the same term was used for wheelie bins. It doesn't make much sense to me, as the two don't look similar at all, but I suppose sometimes it's just easier to keep the same name for things.
I saw that crazy cat lady on the news. Horrible, wheelie bins are really tall as well, a cat would have no chance of getting out of there.

I heard that 4chan found her address. If anyone can make someones life a living hell it's 4chan. I'm glad they found her.

I'm not. That isn't justice. The RSPCA is powerful enough to get her prosecuted properly and reasonably. No-one deserves the full force of a rabid Internet mob; she should be heavily fined and banned from keeping pets at the very least. There was a death threat group set-up on Facebook... that just beggars belief.
Here in the UK we do tend to have bad enough anti-social crime anyway in any part of the country, without giving them an excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if she has to move away.
Jon, the area it is in is not the worst area.... but the part of that area isn't great.... its actually on the complete opposite side of the city to where I live...
...I know Coventry, and all this talk on facebook of her being killed by those groups is ridiculous... the most that will happen is some chavvy kids will go hurl abuse at her and smash her windows....
Kathy ;p you may like this then.
Coventry's (where this happened) local radio station made this video ;)

I know it may seem extreme but I can't help it, I have always been this way. I just don't tolerate cruelty to animals in any form at all. To me there is no punishment great enough for a human who believes they have the right to torture animals, especially a defencless one like a cat. So maybe I see irrational right now? That is most likely true but that's how I am. When I was in Primary School (about 9 years old) I once punched a boy becuase he wouldn't stop throwing pine cones at the parrots in the trees. I have been the same way ever since.
Things like that on facebook are almost always a load of tripe, no one takes it seriously, there are death threats left right and centre without anyone actually being in danger, it's just a way of people showing their disgust.Maybe they should tell this to some peoples who kill themselves because of this type of internet harasment...
The reason I am happy about the internet getting so involved with this is becuase it's such a powerful tool now in shaming someone. We couldn't had more of an oposite view here. Making a living hell of a person life isn't a reason to be happy...

I have another horror story, this one local. A few weeks ago a man was pulled over by the police right around the corner from my house. The officer heard a meowing sound coming from the trunk. The man told the officer he was marinating his cat in olive oil and spices. He planned on eating the poor animal because it was "mean". Here is the story from the Buffalo News: http://www.buffalonews.com/city/article97630.ece
And here I was trying to make this thread light hearted again :weep:
I'm sorry - make this a happy thread again.
Or...I could tell you what has been happening with my crack head neighbors that just got out on bail.
Maybe I should make a "I want to kill Stephen Harper" website with a lot of killing idea just to check if the RCMP would take the threats seriously and see if the tribunal would find that funny... The last time I check making death threats was illegal everywhere in the world and the web wasn't in an imaginary dimension...
BTW online harasment and online bullying are exactly the same thing in my world. Explain me the differences you see and not the "it isn't serious" justification that isn't an explanation at all...
I begin to more and more hate the German GeMA (http://www.gema.de/en/).
They are suing every content provider one by one (currently they are up against youtube). This results in less and less content being available for users that are dumb enough to keep their German IP adress and don't use a proxy located in the USA.
Example: While I'm allowed to watch "The revenge of the cats" the source-video where the lady throws the cat into the bin is not available in my country >:(
...So, is this cruelty?
Are you talking about the videos in this post (http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,488.msg124269.html#msg124269)? I have no problem playing them. What would have the GeMA to do with this video? There is no music involved. Not exactly about this one, but about one with obviously the same content. And even this one now is only available if you log in at youtube.
...So, is this cruelty?
Basically you believe that the all the internet attention is overreacting to the situation, and I believe that you are overreacting to the internet attention. We should just leave it at that.Sorry it won't work this time... Why because I ain't overeactting at all. It's the big problem with the internet generation... If you think it's ok to publish the adress of someone, smash her house's windows, stalking her, make threats for a cat (but it can be apply to many other situations) your generation have a serious problem. Will you be happy if you read in the newspapers that someone kill her? The internet generation had a lot of difficulties to understand that when they wrote on the web about someone this person is a real human beings and not an amalgame of letters... Not that it surprise me anyway since most of them didn't learn what is respect and were never discipline by their parents. I've deal with enough of them to know how they are... to make it scarier the next batch of kids is even worst.
Emma, I forgot to tell you about my one cat Maui. She was a feral cat that that roamed the neighborhood. I think someone dumped her because anytime she saw me she would jump in my arms. Of course I had been feeding her but even from the beginning she let me pet her.
So, I took her in to be spayed and and get her shots and any other treatments. She was 9 pounds and amazing enough was completely healthy - no fleas, ear mites or worms. She then became a member of my family.
Now, with having 11 cats at the time I did keep her alone in the bedroom until everyone got used to the sounds and smells. After a few weeks she was part of the pack and everyone (including the new kitten) gets along wonderfully.
I only feed my cats dry food. I keep 14 bowls of food filled and let them help themselves. This was never a problem as all my cats are in fine shape and no one was overweight...until Maui.
I don't know if she is afraid of where her next meal is coming from, and so is stocking up, but this 9 pound feral cat ballooned up to 19 pounds. I am not going to change the way I feed the other cats so I have been trying to increase her exercise. She likes the laser pointer but so do the other cats so its hard to get her to really work out. She has lost 2 pounds over the last 6 months but she is still obese.
My hope is that she will come to realize that food will always be there and that she eventually eats normally. If not, then I will have one fat happy cat.
Cruel? I don't think that word applies to either you or me irregardless of what anyone else says. Your elderly pet is enjoying the good life don't you worry about what one insensitive vet said.

I will not be returning to that vet.... My cat is not severely overweight... according to there chart it is 1.5 pounds over weight... ok thats alot for a small animal... but
my cat is 13,.... he likes to sleep... its very hard to make a 13 year old cat run around like a kitten...
my cat has half a tin of cat food per day and a handful of biscuits... there is no way im over feeding him... I said before he has always been large... he has a large build but.
I personally do not think I have done anything cruel to my cat ever... well apart from accidentally nudge it a few times when it sleeps on the end of my bed.
...its not like I even treat my cat like a human... it only eats tinned cat food.... mind you, the fussy bugger will only eat the most expensive stuff.
...ugh! anyway... im ranting... it just angered me when he told me I was being cruel... cruelty to an animal is something entirely different in my book!
Finally, and my last public point on this topic (I will communicate via pm if anyone wishes), is I hope that this woman gets long term psychiatric help. She has demonstrated through her actions that she needs it.As usual Kathy you read my mind and came exactly with the opinion I had ;D

Another video has surfaced on the net of a young girl throwing 9 puppies into a river, while they scream and whimper. I have heard that 4chan is already on the job to reveal her identity. I really hope they find her. There doesn't seem to be any way of tracking her down in the video, if she gets away with it it would be awful.OMG

That was even more terrible than the one with the cat.
How perverted does one have to be to do such things??
This obviously wasn't even filmed by a hidden camera, the girl was fully aware of being filmed.
I'm sorry Jimmy, I was under the impression that we were allowed to speak about general topics here, as well as subjects of film and DVD's. I will never post about anything aside from DVD's again.OK I restart maybe I was too extreme... Of course it's the general section, so it's ok to talk about almost everything but...

The name of this topic is YouTube Find ;) wich implies 3 facts :
1. It's from YouTube;
2. it's a video;
3. it's a fun thing.
Your post doesn't have any of those that's all.
But if you want to open a thread about all the bad things that happen to the animals feel free to do so. At least it won't be off-topic and I won't have to read about it.
See I ain't that bad, I just react too fast without thinking too much sometimes :capito:
I'm sorry that I broke one of your made-up, imaginary rules Jimmy.Even when I try to be calm and take the time to explain it didn't work... Is it that hard to recognize that your post wasn't a video and was off-topic...
Die Hard 5

As it isn't a remake, they have a clear run to build on No Country For Old Men. I'm really looking forward to this.

The only thing that bothers me about my answer is, why is she talking into it. It was only made for sound amplification, and there is no one in her immediate vicinity that she could be conversing with.
Time travel is invented and they send an old lady (or a cross dresser...?) to try it out.For testing purposes this is exactly what I would do.
This was nominated by the Gruen Transfer as one of the worst commercials of all time.
Speaking of worst commercial.. I can't decide if this is just bad... or so bad it's awesome! You be the judge
God dammit! It's kids like that who have created the stigma against gamers.
Well he got the fire lit.
I can't even begin to imagine what going through something like that must be like...
I was thinking more Irish, but now I listen again, yeah, Swedish is likely. Or Muppet Chef... ;)
By the way, what did you think of the x-rated trailer?
I liked the LITERALized one.
I really enjoyed that. It played nicely with perspective.

I haven't liked Nick Cage in anything but Kick-Ass. Before I saw it I was almost dreading having to see a film with the "NOT THE BEE'S" guy in it, so I was quite pleasantly surprised when he did such a great job.
These type of news stories really bother me. Sure some people are addicted to gaming, especially to the likes of COD or WoW. But even more people aren't and just play it casually. The people who see these stories get this idea that all gamers are violent addicts as that's how we are so often portrayed in the media :slaphead:.
The people who claim video games make people violent should do some research. In Queenslands 'Mana Bar' which is a nightclub/ gaming bar where friends can drink and game at the same time there has not been one violent case since the bar opened. And no disorderly drunken behaviour. This is coming from a place where violent video games are mixed with alcohol. Yet all around them other bars and nightclubs are fueled with drunken bar fights every night... and they think gaming is the source of this? ::).
Ohh,
Australia was one of my favourites for the 2022 games.
Let's just hope that it doesn't depend on this video (The kangaroo is cute though).
Is that Kylie in the US? I didn't even think they knew her over there. I thought she was only big in Aus, NZ, UK etc.AFAIK, she is rather small ... :hysterical: (sorry for the pun, couldn't resist :bag:)
Sorry, Karsten, Celtic Woman are just a bit too polished and precise. Let It Snow should be relaxed and jazzy!
Ok, Kylie isn't a fine singer, but definitely more fun and... hey, it's Kylie. :drooling:
Did you honestly just say Fosters is a famous Australian export? That's actually embarrassing. Do people from other countries actually think Australians drink that stuff? Oh man. I honestly think I could count the amount of times I've seen someone drink Fosters in my whole life on one hand. Maybe even less. As far as beer goes it's always the last choice for any Aussie.
:laugh:How could you possibly drink it?
Did you honestly just say Fosters is a famous Australian export? That's actually embarrassing. Do people from other countries actually think Australians drink that stuff?
I'm really sorry, but because of these lagers getting such exposure here, the general perception in the UK is that Australian's claim to be hard drinkers, but in fact, can only handle the equivalent of... erm... watered down cat's piss. And in fact, would pass out while attempting a single, proper pint.:hysterical:
Same goes for Americans actually. Budweiser? Really?
:hmmmm:Yupp, in Australia and a German city named Cologne you could easily make a fortune.
I've got 13 cats...watered down piss...I could get rich!
I have to admit - I don't understand why anyone gets upset over a game.

This is really awesome. Someone put a camera around a cats neck and filmed a day in it's life, from it's point of view.

A near perfect demo of exactly why I think musicals are rubbish... Yes, it looks pretty, but the opening moments are awful! And it's animated! Good grief. :yucky:
By the way, absolutely agree with the sports star thing. Absurd use of the word "hero", now as overused as "genius".
I'm glad you agree with me on the hero thing, it drives me crazy sometimes. Especially living in Australia. This country seems to be obsessed with sports and "sporting stars" to a point that is way over the top. Every night almost we have some football star on the news making a drunken idiot of themselves, and most of them prove to be pretty useless at anything buy football, yet these seem to be the people we want the children of the nation to look up to. :slaphead:
It's even worse than Sunrise and The Today Show, now that's saying a lot
Have you ever heard the original? It was used on the Mafia I soundtrack and I hadn't realised how sinister it was!

I love that Marks and Spencer ad Jon! Especially Twiggy. I'm actually surprised you like it, since it's basically a homage to many musicals. I saw a bit of Chicago in there amongst others. Not to mention music video tributes to the likes of Beyonce, Madonna and Britney Spears. Hell the whole ad was kind of like watching an episode of Glee, but handled very well.
I tried to watch an episode of some US soap one day. Bloody hell, how do they even get through filming it? Truly, deeply awful!
I filmed this earlier today. Those things are huge up close.North Germany (at least the part where I am from, Lower Saxony) has been plastered with these things...
Marie, I thought you might like this ;)
I finally remembered to look, and it isn't available here. :(
Nice to see the Doctor has got her some recognition outside the UK.
This video is locked by "Brainpool" due to copyright reasons. Thanks god!
Looks like an ad for shows on TV or something (can't read whatever langage that is, so I've no idea) - could even be just someone with too much time on his hands - either way, it's pretty clever ;)It looks like Dutch and what appears to be a TV channels ad for the shows they have.
Check this out Jon...NSFW...
I think I just found my favourite game reviewer! No technical shenanigans, no comparing this and that console, no bitching about graphics quality or whatnot. You discovered Mark from Classic Game Room...? I have been following his reviews for quite some time now. One or two games I bought because of him.
95% of the time I just love that 5-10s bit he chooses to place within the opening titles.
Have you guys ever seen Zero Punctuation? He's quite rude, very rarely likes any games well enough to recommend them, but can be very funny and the videos have a style about them. I think he liked Minecraft...

It only answers this very simplest of questions ....
Is, the game, fun?
Awesome! I wonder how many Extras (;)) we see again and again without realizing it...That's exactly what they are there for. They should fill up the scenery but not distract from the main cast.
Brilliant! Make sure you watch right through the credits...
I wanna go to the party... nice ladies at the party... :drooling:Yupp,
Anonymous claims they will destroy Facebook.Yes!
Will they try ?
Will it work ?No!
Will it work ?I hope so :P

Meh. Looks like more Iron Man 2. Well, at least there is Scarlett in a tight suit again.
But you're not an average comic fan though, are you?
...but do we have to set the bar that low just because it's comics?
Insane safety works video that could almost work for our marathon, if someone want to write a review
A little caution, a lot of gore in it but don't worry this is fake and not real
Just wait for the propane thank accident later...
Holy crap. I started a thread with this trailer at the same time as you posting.
Due to a recent review at redlettermedia.com (http://redlettermedia.com/half-in-the-bag/robot-and-the-last-circus/) of the Kollywood movie "Endhiran" (English title: "Robot"), which they surprisingly enjoyed, I have ordered that movie and it's on the way.
I just watched the following YouTube clip and the movie promises some fun action. Even though the CGI is obviously not as good as in your standard Hollywood action movie, I think there are some nice fresh ideas.
Just checked and the e-tailer I have used before, Bollyman (http://www.bollyman.com/), has Blu's of Endhiran Robo in Telugu with English subs at £17.99 or Robot in Hindi with English subs at £18.99. :hmmmm: Which one to go for? Cast listings appear to indentical, think I may plump for the cheaper one.
Seems to be a Must-Have for the Anime fans:
In fact I'm a bit astounded that it isn't reviewed here yet.
No Anime fan in particular, but I have seen Paprika (maybe not reviewed, but I am quite certain it was briefly discussed).
I found it too confusing to even attempt a review, albeit, I don't men that entirely negative. It had elements of Stange Days in its story as well as some other movies.
Apparently I'm living under a rock, so I just discovered this. I really love the first one and the second one is great fun.

Wow, even stupider idea fr a movie than Battleship. :slaphead:
Because i love the classics ;D
From this trailer I recognized at least 6 "serious" dance movies. Hopefully they don't mean this serious. This trailer is not a parody! I found it on Apple's trailer site. From what I can tell the trailer plays out fairly seriously, one must really wonder if they have finally lost their minds entirely... :headscratch:
As a persiflage, this might be a good one.
erm... are you being serious? I can't quite tell...
There is a really cute (deaf) girl in the second row, but sadly in this Youtube clip you can hardly recognize her because of the low quality.
This scene is from the first season (episode 11 I think).
And we learn why the Americans prefer to do remakes instead of dubbing. The lip-synchronization is a catastrophe. You might be joking, but let me point out that the audio was actually from another movie, incl. a few shots of the papers in people's hands and the killer with the hook. That other movie is I know what you did last summer.
You might be jokingYupp.

Not your fault. maybe the deal was already in the making.
You don't go throwing out 4,050,000,000.00$ dollars without a long negotiation process .. I wouldn't in any case! ;)Not?
If someone would offer me that amount of cash for anything I own it would take me less than a second to sign a contract. This is how deals with the devil come about
Seems to be one of the "Must See"s in 2013I quite liked the trailer too and immediately added it to my watch list for next year.
I saw the trailer at the theater when seeing 'The Hobit'. I thought it was a good one to see. Seemed humorous and a completely new slant on the zombie thing. Some wont like it because it isn't 'purist' but it should be a fun watch. The idea in general is not quite that new. There is Fido, which deals with domesticating zombies, and Wasting Away, which is a story told from the point of view of the zombies... Their style is very different, bhey are both fun to watch. There might be others.
