Episode Reviews
Brilliant, but socially inept, forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperence Brennan works at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington DC. After consulting for him on a FBI case, she is approached by cocky yet charming ex-Army Ranger turned Special Agent, Seeley Booth to help the Bureau solve crimes by identifying human remains that are too far gone for standard FBI forensic investigations. Brennan's empirical, literal view of the world causes friction with Booths emotive, instinctive attitude creating a volatile relationship. However as their case load increases the symbiotic partnership produces results and with the support of Brennan's Squint Squad, murderers, past and present should be on the look out.

Bones: Season 1
David Boreanaz (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars as F.B.I. Agent Seeley Booth, who teams up with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to solve some of the most baffling and bizarre crimes ever. Booth depends on clues from the living, witnesses and suspects, while Brennan gathers evidence from the dead, relying on her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the bones of the victims. Their different investigative styles cause the two to frequently clash, creating an undeniable chemistry and just the right touch of dark humor. Inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs and state-of-the-art criminal investigation procedures, Bones is compelling, cutting-edge television.

1. Pilot
Air Date: 9/13/05
Forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan teams up with FBI agent Seeley Booth to investigate the murder of a Senate intern, the political implications of which may prove to be staggering.

Guest Stars:
Sam Trammell as Ken Thompson
Chris Conner as Oliver Laurier
Larry Poindexter as Senator Bethlehem
Tyrees Allen as Ted Eller
Bonita Friedericy as Sharon Eller

My Thoughts:
This is an awesome series with a great cast. The cast in this show has wonderful chemistry together. It was a bit weird seeing Brennan's old boss from the first season again. While I enjoyed it I do prefer her new boss now. It was really good seeing the character of Zach again. I much preferred him over the rotating assistants. An excellent start to an excellent series. I have a feeling I will be getting into this show again.

2. The Man in the S.U.V.
Air Date: 9/20/05

Guest Stars:
Jose Zuniga as Mickey Santana
Bahar Soomekh as Sahar Masruk
Dave Roberson as Bennett Gibson
Anne Dudek as Tessa Jankow
Frederico Dordei as Ali Ladjavardi

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode... but no where near the quality of the  first episode. It has a decent story... and the characters I just really couldn't force myself to care about. But the chemistry between the regular characters did make up for that a bit.

I agree this is an awesome series, Pete, and I do really like it. But I thought the pilot was awful! It felt like a showpiece demo for executives, written in crayon so they could understand it. There was a noticeable change in the second episode and I just loved the style of it from then on.

3. A Boy in a Tree
Air Date: 9/27/05
Brennan and Booth attempt to untangle a complicated web of deception, sex, and blackmail as they investigate an apparent suicide at an elite prep school.

Guest Stars:
Jose Zuniga as Mickey Santana
Heavy D. as Sid Shapiro
Mark Totty as Leo Sanders
Tom Dugan as Headmaster Ronson
Marlene Forte as Ambassado Olivos

My Thoughts:
Definitely better then the last episode... but still not quite as good as the pilot episode. But that is not surprising since I usually find that the pilot episode of a series is one of the best of a series. I liked the little side story of the restaurant that the squints take over... leaving Booth upset. The main storyline/mystery was good... interesting... but could have been better.

I don't know what you saw that I didn't (or possibly what I saw that you didn't?) at this point in the marathon the pilot is my favorite episode!  I thought it was a great introduction to the cast.... and really enjoyed the case they worked on.

The one thing I can't wait to happen is to get to the episodes where Bones has the new female boss. For some reason I never cared for her boss in the first season. All the other main characters I love... but him not so much. The female boss was much better. She seemed to fit with the group better.

It's the dumb convenience of everything. Angela meeting Bones at the airport and then the fight... c'mon! Ridiculous.  :P It might be a British thing, because I remember Rich saying he couldn't bear it either and I tried to persuade him to give episode 2 a chance. ;)

Well both those things worked perfectly to me. Angela was there to pick up Brennen from the airport. So that is why she met her there. First thing Angela did was check the board to see if Brennen's plane arrived yet. And the board was flickering and not working... so she went to the counter to try to find out from the clerk. And I personally loved that she ripped her shirt open to get his attention when he ignored her!  :drooling:

It was also established throughout the first season that Brennen was into the martial arts and didn't like to be touched so when the guy grabbed her arm (without clearly stating he was with Home Security) she put him down. It was completely in character and seemed to work just fine to me.

It wasn't so much what happened, but how. It did make sense Angela was there. Brennan would have been arrested, if not shot!

Nope, 2 out of 5 for the opener! :P

You are forgetting something. They knew who Brennen was from  the start. The Home Security guy was only holding her as a favor to Booth. It was basically a joke Booth was playing on Brennen. So Brennen would have never been in any danger of being arrested or hurt.

As for Angela... she was there to pick her friend up from the airport. That is a very natural and common thing. Not sure what you see wrong there.

Guest Stars:
Alex Carter as Dr. Andrew Rigby
Marguerite MacIntyre as Dr. Denise Randall
Tom Kiesche as Sheriff Chris Scutter
Steve Reevis as Ranger Sherman Rivers
Rusty Joiner as Charlie

My Thoughts:
This is the best episode I seen since the pilot. An excellent episode. Loved the story... and enjoyed all the characters. I also thought it was hilarious how Zach and Hodgins reacted to the cute girl delivering packages. An excellent episode... remains one of my favorites.

5. A Boy in a Bush

Guest Stars:
Paul Butcher as Shawn Cook
Evan Ellingson as David Cook
Natacha Roi as Margaret Sanders
Michelle Anne Johnson as Sara Johnston
Paul Parducci as Captain Kyle Henning

My Thoughts:
Very good episode. A powerful storyline. But then I always found the storylines about young kids to be more dramatic. This is the episode where it comes out that Hodgins is rich.... and Angela has a hard time dealing with all that her job entails. That is until she is told how others view her job. I really like how this show is about more then the case they are working on.

Guest Stars:
Morris Chestnut as Agent Oakes
Bokeem Woodbine as Randall Hall
Anne Dudek as Tessa Jankow
Charles Duckworth as Rulz
Laz Alonso as George Warren

True, I did forget that. But I really don't have a problem with the plot or how Angela was there. You're right, that is normal. It's a while since I watched it, but I had the distinct impression that the writing and acting was just awful compared to the series proper. I'd have had more respect for it if they just introduced themselves on camera!

7. The Man on Death Row
Air Date: 11/22/05
The race against time is on as Brennan and Booth investigate the case of a death row inmate who may or may not have committed the murder for which he is about to be executed.

Guest Stars:
Rachelle Lafevre as Amy Morton
Michael Mantell as Larry Carlyle
Jeffrey Nordling
David Starzyk
Joan McMurtrey

My Thoughts:
Sure the whole save the man on death row has been done many times. But this one I found to be excellent. I liked the story a lot... and liked the way they ended it. Not in the way you would expect going into it. I got a kick out of the judge they had to wake up multiple times through the night. He was good for a couple chuckles.

Guest Stars:
Josh Hopkins as Michael Stires
Matt Ross as Neil Meredith
Alicia Coppola as Joy Deaver
Leonard Roberts as D.A. Andrew Levitt
Rachel Miner as Mary Costello

My Thoughts:
A good episode. I enjoyed the back and forth between Brennan and her old professor. For me the case took the back burner to the relationship between the two. Though it was interesting in it's own right. For the first time... the ending opened up another mystery. One we will hear more about in later episodes.

Guest Stars:
Jim Ortlieb as Hal
Heavy D. as Sid Shapiro
Margaret Avery as Ivy Gillespie
Billy F Gibbons as Angela's Father
Bob Bouchard as Mr. Addy

My Thoughts:
This is an excellent episode. Bones has a great cast that has wonderful chemistry together. I think this was a very good way to do a Christmas episode for this series. The story was well done... I really liked the hologram Christmas Tree Angela made... as well as all the gifts they made for each other. The case they worked on was interesting as well. This is the episode we find out that Booth has a son. I even liked Brennan's boss in this episode... and that is a character I don't normally like.

Guest Stars:

Harry Groener as Dr. Henry Atlas
Michael B. Silver as Dr. Kostov
Marika Dominczyk as Leslie Snow
Natalija Nogulich as Ivana Bardu

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode. But it is far from a favorite. Basically just a standard filler episode. I found I didn't care too much for the story or the characters when it came to the case they were working on. It was a little fun watching Hodgins and the boss trying to work together. Over-all just an average episode.

A very good conclusion to the first season. In this one... not only does Brennan get closure for her mother but she also finds out that her father is still alive. So not only does it make for a good season finale it also leaves a lot open to draw you in for the second season.

1. The Titan on the Tracks
Air Date: 8/30/06
Brennan and Booth's investigation points to foul play when an apparent suicide causes a train to derail and kills a senator. And, Brennan receives some disturbing news about her mother's killer.

Guest Stars:
Christine Estabrook as Lisa Supac
Ray Wise as Rick Turco
Ann Cusack as Dianne Hochman
Timothy Landfield as SEC Investigator Dan Burroughs
Sam Witwer as Mitchell Downs

My Thoughts:
First thing I notice when I put in the first disc of the second season is that they added the ability to play all... instead of having to go back to the menu after each episode like you had to do with the first season. I am always glad to see that. It is a good start to the new season... but not a favorite episode. This is the first episode to have Camille as Brennan's boss. Who I personally prefer over the boss in season 1... so I am happy about that.

A good episode here... though not quite as good as the last one. This one has an interesting story about a man with multiple wives. I tell you what this is easing my pain of not being able to watch horror some. Some of the stuff the show on these episodes is pretty gory looking. Which is cool by me... get a little gore-ific images without cheating and watching horror!  :P

Actually, Pete, do you know that the series is based on a series of books by Kathy Reichs and she really is an anthropologist who works with the FBI? Well, at least in a teaching capacity.  ;)

The episodes aren't based on her stories directly, but the idea of Brennan being a novelist is a neat link...

Of course I loved this episode. Halloween episodes of TV Shows has almost always been my favorite episodes. And this one is no different. It was a lot of fun. And I must say... Brennan looked great as Wonder Woman... as did Camille looked great as Cat Woman. Not that Angela looked bad as a Show Girl of course!

Bones: Season 4

1. The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond
Air Date: 9/24/08
When a teenager comes across a dismembered body in a pool of purple water, Brennan and Booth are called to the scene. There they find that the victim's head is missing. With help from the newest grad student, Wendell, the team learns the body is that of Jared Addison, a 25-year-old science fiction writer with severe OCD. Sweets lends his expertise to the case as Booth and Brennan interview suspects, which includes Jared's psychologist. Meanwhile, a person from the group's past gives them insight into the case.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Eric Millegan as Zack Addy
Michael Grant Terry as Wendell Bray
Debra Christofferson as Kelly Sutton
Lisa Kaminir as Tilda Addison
Ryan Alvarez as Ralph

My Thoughts:
An excellent episode! It was so good to see Zack in an episode again. Every season since I have hoped to see another episode with him in it. I really like where they went with this episode. The ending was one I wasn't expecting which of course is always a good thing. I would even go as far to say I found this episode to be one of the best in the entire series.

2. The Crank in the Shaft
Air Date: 10/01/08
When the remains of a manager are found in an office building's elevator shaft, Booth and Brennan must attempt to find which employee had the most motive to kill their boss. Meanwhile, Brennan's latest grad student, who has a very bleak and morbid outlook on life, lends his insight.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Joel David Moore as Colin Fisher
Ewan Chung as Chip Yap
Katherine Leonard as Christine Gertin
Pete Gardner as Gary Flannery
Devin McGinn as Ted Russo

My Thoughts:

3. The He in the She
Air Date: 10/08/08
When remains are found in the Chesapeake Bay, Booth and Brennan are sent to the scene to investigate. The team has little to go on when only the upper torso is found, complete with breast implants. However, when the lower half is found, everyone realizes their initial assumptions about the victim were incorrect.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Ryan Cartwright as Vincent Nigel-Murray
David Gallagher as Ryan Stephenson
Bruce Thomas as JP Gratton
Blake Shields as Chuck Kennedy
Nancy Youngblut as Cecilia Stephenson

My Thoughts:
This episode is better then the last one. I liked the intern they had in this one. I forgot to mention... now that Zach is gone this season (and if I remember correctly throughout though-out the rest of the series to date) they have several interns rotating through instead of just replacing Zach with one character. While I really liked Zach... he was one of my favorite characters... I also like how they handled loosing him at the Jeffersonian. I always got a kick out of how this intern kept throwing out those little known but useless facts. I also liked the bit of a twist this one has. Made for a memorable episode.

4. The Skull in the Sculpture

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Carla Gallo as Daisy Wick
Vicki Lewis as Helen Bridenbecker
Jonathan LaPaglia as Anton Deluca
Todd Bosley as Duane

My Thoughts:
Another episode I enjoyed quite a bit. The story is good... and I really liked the side story of Angela and Roxy. It was kind of a surprise... but going by the Angela's character you really shouldn't be surprised. If that makes any sense. Maybe it is partial memory of the episode... but I felt I knew early on into the episode who the murderer was.

Guest Stars:

Eugene Byrd as Clark Edison
Brian Howe as Sheriff Leonard Wilkinson
Joseph C. Phillips as Colonel Ryan Wolchuch
Mandy Freund as Lily Stegman

Guest Stars:

Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Peggy Miley as Charlotte Hanover
Amy Farrington as Kate McNutt
William R. Moses as Arthur Bilbrey
Dyllan Christopher as Eli Bilbrey

My Thoughts:
This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. I really enjoyed not only how they need to work with such a strict timeline... but also how they had to find ways to make due with ordinary stuff to examine the body. Brennan could give Macgyver a run for his money. And the mystery itself is a good... interesting one. And I must say I got a kick out of the two old lady mystery buffs.

Guest Stars:

Guest Stars:

Who I can not believe I didn't recognize while watching this! I just looked to see if he was in any other episodes and what do I just now realize? Another good episode. This is the one where we meet Cam's adopted daughter. It is also an interesting murder case as well.

15. The Science in the Physicist
Air Date: 04/09/09

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Ryan Cartwright as Vincent Nigel-Murray
John Pyper-Ferguson as Landis Collar
Aimee Garcia as Jennifer Keating
Anil Raman as Dr. Christopher Beaudette
August Emerson as Milton Alvaredo

My Thoughts:
This is a fun episode. Not only does it have an interesting murder case... it also has Angela's father back. Which is where most the fun in this episode comes from. He is looking for revenge because he thinks Hodgens broke Angela's heart. And I must admit... I like the way this guy thinks... he got his revenge in a very creative way.

Kevin Christy as Kurtis Rossi
Linda Hart as Mrs. Lucia Burtolino

My Thoughts:
Another episode I enjoyed. Once again the side stories were just as enjoyable as the murder mystery. This time mainly about Dr. Sweets and his girlfriend. Still a bunch of garbage keeping Angela and Hodgens apart... will be glad when that particular storyline is over.

17. Mayhem on a Cross
Air Date: 04/16/09
A human skeleton being used as a stage-prop casts Booth and Brennan headlong into the morbid, musical realm of death metal.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Stephen Fry as Dr. Gordon Wyatt
Eugene Byrd as Clark Edison
AJ Trauth as Pinworm
Michael William Freeman as Grinder
Tania Raymonde as Lexi

My Thoughts:
After reading the plot for this one I expected not to care much for this one (I didn't remember it from the original airing)... but I have to admit I liked it a lot. The music really don't come that much into play in the story. I was able to ignore it completely. And it really dug deep into the relationship between Booth, Brennan and Sweets. And it also brings back Dr. Gordon Wyatt... who was the first psychiatrist that was introduced after Booth shot the clown head. This one has good side stories and the murder case is interesting.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Kelvin Yu as Franklin Tung
Kathryn Meisle as Helen Reilly
Ellen Geer as Annie Reilly
Matt Malloy as Barney Reilly
Mandy Siegfried as Amy Valeska

My Thoughts:
A pretty good episode.... but not a favorite. Something about the murder that just didn't seem to click. But it did have it's entertainment value. The episode just don't hold up to the previous episodes.

Bumper Robinson as Micah Strutt
Larry Clarke as Paul Vogler
Yuji Okumoto as Bruce Takedo

20. The Beaver in the Otter
Air Date: 04/30/09
Booth and Brennan go back to school to investigate when the body of a fraternity member is found inside a rival school's mascot costume. Meanwhile, Booth offers to help his brother find a job.

Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Brendan Fehr as Jared Booth
Pej Vahdat as Arastoo Vaziri
Jaimie Alexander as Molly Briggs
Nick Ballard as Greg Harmalard
Rick Peters as Dean Vernon Warner

My Thoughts:
Another good episode. It was good to see Booth's brother again. Especially on how it ended for him in the last episode he was on. Having to solve a case in a college meant that we were dealing with stupid kids that like to have fun... so there was naturally some fun elements to this one. At this point  Angela is still in the celibate stage. They need to get her and Hodgins back together already. But to be honest... I can't remember if they do that this season or the next one. At this rate... with only two more season four episodes left... it will probably be next season.

Guest Stars:

Joel David Moore as Colin Fisher
Jeff Yagher as Sean Mortenson
Chad Willett as Charlie Dunwood

My Thoughts:
another episode I enjoyed quite a bit. It has a good murder case they are working on... as well as a very good side story. Brennan deciding she wants a baby caused much disbelief from her friends. Guest Stars:
John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets
Ryan O'Neal as Max Keenan
Eric Millegan as Zack Addy
Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Sean Blakemore as Grayson Barasa
Eugene Byrd as C-Synch

My Thoughts:
This episode brings season four to an end. This is really a different type of episode. It all takes place in a fantasy world... a dream that Booth has while in a coma in the hospital. This episode even has Zach in it... which is good to see him again. As well as all the different interns that has been taking his place at the Jeffersonian. So it was pretty cool seeing everyone in the one episode. And for those music lovers out there... this episode even has Mötley Crüe performing. It is a right good episode... and nice change of pace for the season finale.

1. Harbingers in the Fountain
Air Date: 09/17/09

Guest Stars:
Cyndi Lauper as Avalon Harmonia
Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Lenny Schmidt as Dr. Charles Leacock
Michael Bryan French as Tom Fargood / Alexander Gallo
Amy Dudgeon as FBI Agent

My Thoughts:
This is a very good start to the new season. I enjoyed the murder case... and liked the side story of the differences in Booth after his tumor operation and coma. I found it a little odd it didn't mention the ongoing storyline between Angela and Hodgins. But I guess it had enough to deal with concerning the other two storylines. It was also strange that there was no intern helping in the lab in this episode.

2. The Bond in the Boot

Guest Stars:
Michael Grant Terry as Wendell Bray
Christopher B. Duncan as Arthur Rutledge
Michael Arden as Harold Prescott
Riki Lindhome as Mandy Summers
Emily Foxler as Lena Brodsky
Joseph Julian Soria as Pedro Marquez

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode... but I wouldn't rank it as high as most the others. The whole spy thing in the storyline really didn't appeal to me at all. I did however like the storyline where Wendell was loosing his grant and couldn't continue to intern at the Jeffersonian.

Guest Stars:
Eugene Byrd as Clark Edison
Tiffany Hynes as Michelle Welton
Randy Oglesby as Daniel Yoder
Jennifer Parsons as Rebecca Yoder
Kaitlin Doubleday as Karin Lin
Arjay Smith as Tony Salinas

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed quite a bit. It has an interesting murder case to solve. And I also enjoyed the side story of Michelle... the teen girl Cam adopted... showing interest in having sex for the first time. Guest Stars:

Leonardo Nam as Nate Grunenfelder
Reggie Austin as James Perry
Billy Gardell as Bob Sayles
Cheryl White as Mary Kay Sayles
Paula Newsome as Kelly Bissette

My Thoughts:
Another that I enjoyed quite a bit. The murder mystery is a good one. Kept my interest through-out. Though the side story with Arastoo Vaziri was one I really found no interest in what so every. Him faking his accent... I mean... who cares? It adds nothing at all to the show.... making it no more then filler for this episode. After the whole first disc of the fifth season they still haven't even mentioned the Angela / Hodgins storyline. I wish they would finish it up and get those two back together already.

Guest Stars:
Carla Gallo as Daisy Wick
Diedrich Bader as Andrew Hacker
Andy Umberger as Steven Turnbull
Mozhan Marno as Azita Jabbari
Kasey Mahaffy as Leland Frankel
Eli Goodman as Dr. Alexander Wheaton

My Thoughts:
This is an excellent episode. I enjoyed every minute of it. It has a very interesting murder case they are trying to solve. And I really liked the side story of Daisy once again becoming one of the Jeffersonian interns after being fired because no one liked to work with her. It was actually kind of funny to see Daisy and Brennan get all excited together over the Egyptian mummy findings. And Brennan knowing the Boris Karloff movie The Mummy so well was also entertaining for some reason. I guess it just seemed so out of character for her... even though it shouldn't have. I mean after all... if she is going to know any movie it would be that one. Definitely one of the best episodes I seen in quite a while.

6. The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken

Guest Stars:
Michael Grant Terry as Wendell Bray
Sean Bridgers as John Collins
Tracy Middendorf as Gaynor Rabin
Sufe Bradshaw as Gina McNamara
Andrew J. West as Josh Parsons
Steven M. Porter as Roy Meyers

My Thoughts:
Not a terrible episode... though definitely on the average side. The murder case they worked on was only mildly interesting. They finally got back to the Angela/Hodgins storyline. But it seems only to put yet another wrinkle into it. I swear I don't remember it taking so long for those two to get back together. It's been all of season 4... and a nice chunk of season 5 already. But I am almost positive they get back together at some point within this season.

Time for a Christmas episode. This one has a special guest star in Emily Deschanel's real life sister Zooey Deschanel who plays Dr. Brennan's cousin who spends most her time quoting Benjamin Franklin. This is a fun episode... what with all the talk about aliens and the way the body looked like one. I felt for Hodgins finding out about Angela sleeping with another co-worker.... one of his friends. Guest Stars:

Richard T. Jones as Mr. White
Scott Connors as Mr. Jones
Dylan Kenin as Mr. Smith

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit.... even though they never did make it completely clear if the remains were those of JFK.  I also really liked the side story of Angela testing positive for pregnancy.... and Hodgins declaring his love for her. Turned out that it was a false positive... but it also went a long way to getting her and Hodgins back together. I also listened to the commentary track on this episode. The commentary is with Tamara Taylor (Cam), John Francis Daily (Sweets) and Michaela Conlin (Angela). Going into it I was hoping they would touch on it taking so long getting her and Hodgins back together. They never did touch on it... but it was still a fun listen. It was a good combination of information and them just having fun watching the episode together.

This is the series 100th episode! And what do they do? They bring back Zack for it! One of my favorite characters of the early episodes. I have actually been surprised how much I have seen Zack on here still. I was thinking it was only once or twice after he left. But it has been at least 3 or 4 times here so far. They made the 100th episode an excellent one! I enjoyed every second of it. I got a kick out of Dr. Sweet's reaction to learning about the real first case Booth and Brennan worked together. After the episode I watched a featurette on the making of the 100th episode where I learned that David Boreanaz (Booth) directed the episode. I also found out that David Boreanaz's father (David Boreanaz, Sr.) was there at the time and was given a walk on part in the episode. I thought that was cool.

Yeah... I know what you mean about the ending. But it really didn't take away from the episode for me.

I watched a couple more episodes last night... but couldn't post about them... we were hit with some thunder storms and I had my computer off. Will be posting about those here shortly.

My Thoughts:
I was originally going to hold off on watching the next disc. That was until I saw what episode was next. Then I just couldn't wait to watch it again. This one has a guest star I always liked... Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger). I really liked this episode a lot... one of my favorite episodes!

18. The Predator in the Pool
Air Date: 4/22/10

Guest Stars:
Eugene Byrd as Clark Edison
Diedrich Bader as Andrew Hacker
Myndy Crist as Grace Redmon
Tembi Locke as Marilyn Stoddard
Toby Meuli as Ben Marcus

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. But not as good as the last couple I watched. It has an interesting case to work on. And the side stories helps to bring the season long arcs along nicely. Definitely an above average episode.

19. The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle
Air Date: 4/29/10
When the body of a wealthy thrill-seeker turns up in a hotel laundry machine, Booth and Brennan trace his history to a rock 'n' roll fantasy camp, while Hodgins, Angela and an intern find a link to suspects.

Guest Stars:
Josh Todd as Erik Dalton
Pej Vahdat as Arastoo Vaziri
Elon Gold as Dr. Paul Lidner
Tiffany Hines as Michelle Welton
Molly Morgan as Bebe
John Wynn as Gino

My Thoughts:
A decent episode... but a little too music oriented. So that took away from it a little for me. Since I don't see the same in music that most people do... the motive for murder just didn't make much sense to me. But that is ok. I was still able to enjoy it to a point for what it is... an episode of Bones.

20. The Witch in the Wardrobe
Air Date: 5/06/10

Guest Stars:
Eugene Byrd as Clark Edison
Jillian Bach as Ember
Kate Vernon as Rowan
William Stanford Davis as Floyd Barber
Joel Polis as Mario Trivisonno
Peter Holden as Jesse Byrd

My Thoughts:
Loved every minute of this one. The story involves witches... so being the fan of anything even slightly horror related this one really peaks my interest. So it has a good murder case storyline... and the side story was equally as good. Placing Angela and Hodgins together for a long period of time alone. Making them face what they been to and what they mean to each other. Needless to say they are finally back together.... as I think they should have been the entire time. With only 1 more disc with two more episodes left in this season I am thinking I may as well continue on to the next disc and get it all watched.

21. The Boy with the Answers
Air Date: 5/13/10
Forced to stand as an expert witness in a trial against a federal prosecutor believed to be the notorious Gravedigger killer, Brennan finds her emotional limits — she's a scientist, not a criminologist.

Guest Stars:
Ryan O'Neal as Max Keenan
Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Deirdre Lovejoy as Heather Taffet
H. Richard Greene as Judge Dufrey
Dave Allen Clark as Newscaster

My Thoughts:
A good... but not great episode. For a change this episode occurs mostly in the courtroom.  Trying to give all the characters closure after what happened with them by the hands of The Gravedigger. Which it did fine. But the change in this episode felt a little... I don't know... weird to me. Not saying a bad weird. Just a different weird.

22. The Beginning in the End
Air Date: 5/20/10

Guest Stars:
Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian
Carla Gallo as Daisy Wick
Billy F. Gibbons as Angela's Dad
Scott Atkinson as Morgan Finley
Deidrie Henry as Elaine Akusta
Reginald Ballard as Rocky DeKnight

My Thoughts:
This is the season five finale. A good episode. But one that feels more like a series finale then a season finale. I am guessing they weren't sure at the time if there would be a sixth season... so wanted to play it safe. The murder case they worked on was average at best... but I did like all the side stories of all the characters lives and what they were leaving to do... this I enjoyed quite a bit. Now I can't wait to get and re-watch the sixth season!
