There was a list of titles in Profiler as romance... but just didn't really seem to fit in my mind... though it has been years (if ever) since I seen them... so what is your opinion on...

- American Pie
- American Pie 2
- Braveheart
- Bugsy
- Conspiracy Theory
- EDtv
- Entrapment
- A Knight's Tale
- Legends of the Fall
- Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
- The Musketeer
- Solaris
- Wolf

Of course the main plot don't have to be Romance... but I do feel it has to be a big part of the story. Thoughts? Do the above fit in this marathon?

It is really depending on how thin you'd like to spread the term Romance ;) Like, for me Peter Jackson's move Dead Alive (a.k.a. Braindead) has always been a romance (besides being one of the goriest films I've ever seen...).

So for me some of those would still count as romance.

So, I'd say
A Knight's Tale
ThevMusketeer
can apply either way and
Entrapment
Wolf can be considered under my additional "rule". I haven't seen all of the others on the list, but personallynI wouldn't count any of those as romance.

Is this only an excuse to watch your Sandra Bullock's movies :tease:

BTW too bad you don't have this one since it's one of the best romantic movie I've ever seen

This is one also a good one, but you don't have it also

I can be in a romantic mood sometimes, but for 2 weeks :bash:

Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1
Subtitles: N/A

Plot:
Featuring Antonio Sabato Jr. (TV's Melrose Place) and Evan Marriott (TV's Joe Millionaire), See Jane Date is a hilarious romantic comedy that will resonate with anyone who's ever vowed never to fall in love again—but couldn't help it if they did!

Jane Grant (Charisma Carpenter, TV's Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has just received an invitation to her younger cousin's wedding, and it is engraved with two of the most dreaded words a perpetually available single can encounter: "plus guest." Come wedding day, Jane had better deliver. After all, she's already told everyone, including her meddlesome Aunt Ina (Linda Dano, TV's General Hospital) and now-famous high school nemesis Natasha Nutley (Holly Marie Combs, TV's Charmed) that she's in a serious relationship. Now Jane has two months to find a guy to fit the lie, and save face. If the series of miserable set-ups orchestrated by her well meaning best friends Eloise (Rachelle Lefevre, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and Amanda (Sadie LeBlanc, Get Over It) are any indication, Jane's in for big trouble. From first date to blind date, from double-date to last date, the match game is on—and with millions of men to pick from, Jane is sure to find Mr. Right, right?

My Thoughts:
I originally blind bought this movie for my love of 2 of the actresses in this movie. Holly Marie Combs (Charmed) and Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel). As it says above... this is a made for TV movie.... one that While it was a slow start... once I started to get into it turns out to be a movie I really enjoyed. It was fun seeing these 2 actresses in a non-supernatural role. Unfortunately this DVD has no movie related extras what so ever.

Please make sure to watch Notting Hill during this marathon. Even though, if I remember correctly, you do not like Hugh Grant.

Title: Return to Me
Year: 2000
Director: Bonnie Hunt
Rating: PG
Length: 116 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

Stars:
David Duchovny
Minnie Driver
Carroll O'Connor
Robert Loggia
Bonnie Hunt
David Alan Grier

Plot:
Who knew that when he ordered the special, he'd get the dish of his life? David Duchovny ("The 'X'-Files") and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) ignite sparks in this "warm-hearted winner" (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview) about a widower and a waitress who meet and fall in love. Featuring an incredible all-star cast, this hilarious romantic comedy delivers a lot of laughs, tears and joys that will make your spirits soar.

It took a lot of coaxing to get Bob (Duchovny), a recently widowed architect, to go on a blind date at a quirky Irish-Italian eatery. Once there, he's smitten instantly...not with his date, but with the sharp-witted waitress, Grace (Driver). With unsolicited help from Grace's match-making Grandfather (Carroll O'Connor), Bob asks her out. And as their relationship blossoms, everything seems to be going great, until an unbelievable truth is revealed...one that could easily break both of their hearts for good.

My Thoughts:
This one has some good cast in it... so I was looking forward to checking it out. But what I didn't realize until I was a good half way through the movie is that this is a movie I caught a very small part of years ago at a relative's house but never knew what it was. They had it on cable when I went and it drew me in pretty quick... but we left shortly after we got there... and I never found out what it was. So not only was this a good movie... it is one I been wanting to see for several years now.

I found this one to be a great story... very moving and fun at the same time. I like how they showed it as the heart being much more then a muscle that pumps blood. That there is something there... something special... something recognizable. This is one I definitely recommend... if you haven't seen this movie before... give it a chance.

Sounds interesting. I will buy it with one of my next orders.
When I put it on my Amazon wishlist, a movie popped up which I do not see in your list: "Only You" with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
I really like that movie and I think you would also.

Plot:
Moira Kelly (Dangerous Beauty, "The West Wing") and D. B. With nothing in common but their dream of reaching the Olympics, Kate and Doug are each other's last resort. My Thoughts:
Pretty good movie... but I didn't care for it as much as the last couple I watched. Big difference from the last movie I watched. In the last movie it was love at first sight... but in this one... not so much. They started out the movie hating each other... then they skated around (pardon the pun) their feelings for each other for most of the movie. So much so in fact that I feel a little guilty watching it for this marathon. But as I said... a pretty good movie. I can see myself watching it again. It will be a while before I do though.

I also liked Notting Hill which I saw in a theater during it's original run.  Of course, I consider Julia Roberts the queen of the romantic comedy so you need to see at least one of her films during this run.  Maybe one of Meg Ryan's, too?  I liked Sleepless In Seattle, too...as well as You've Got Mail.  Strangely enough, I still haven't gotten around to watching the first Tom Hanks-Meg Ryan film, Joe Vs. The Volcano  :-\

My Thoughts:
This is a movie I saw on cable not all that long ago... along with it's two sequels. And at that time I enjoyed every minute of it. Watching it for the second time today I enjoyed it just as much as the first. I really like the character of Cassandra Nightingale (The Good Witch) and the lovely Catherine Bell did a wonderful job in the role. I couldn't imagine anyone doing it better. If there is anything I didn't care for though... it would be that the ending felt like it was settled a little quickly and easily. But that didn't really take away from the movie for me.

After watching it the first time on Cable I was quick to see if these movies were on DVD. I was thrilled to find this one and ordered it on the next order I made. But unfortunately the two sequels have not been released yet. Hopefully they will be before too long. Also unfortunate is the fact that this DVD release has no extras what so ever.

My Thoughts:
I have heard good things about this movie many times over the years... but this is the first time I am actually seeing it for myself. I went into this one hoping that all the good things I heard wouldn't make my expectations of this one too high. And I must admit I was expecting a little more from it... but even with that said I enjoyed it quite a bit. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal work well together. I didn't get the chance to check out the extras on this disc... so I may just save them for the next time I watch the movie.

As the Apocalypse grows closer, threatening to turn Earth into a battlefield soaked with human blood, Sam, Dean and Castiel struggle against daunting odds. New foes arise, including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Old friends depart, consumed by the fearsome wrath of Hell. Through it all, the Winchesters are targeted by demons and angels alike, who warn that each brother has a special and terrible role to play in the coming devastation. This harrowing 6-disc, 22-Episode Season Five follows Sam and Dean on their most terrifying journey yet, one that may lead them to the only ally strong enough to defeat the Devil: God.

My Bloody Valentine
Stupid Cupid On Valentines Day, the brothers are out for cherub blood when the laughing love god goes rogue, causing sweethearts to die - and kill - for love. But then a man perishes from a Twinkie gorge-athon and the guys realize something more is going on.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode as usual (I always did like this show)... Though it did kinda forget it was a Valentine's day episode about half way through. But what they did do with the Valentine's Day theme was fun... I especially got a laugh on how they did the cupid.

Pete have you seen Valentines Day? It's got some bad reviews, but it's actually quite funny and tongue in cheek! It would be perfect for this marathon  :P

Nope... haven't seen it. And don't have it. But I could check the premium channels... it may have shown up there this month.

I actually got Valentine's Day last year but have yet to see it.  It would probably be a good choice for me to watch on the 14th...or maybe the day before.  I got it mostly since Julia Roberts is in it.  Good cast overall, though.

The Halliwell sisters are back... and they've got "the power of three"! Charmed: The Complete Second Season casts a spell of excitement, adventure and fun as Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) continue their journey as modern-day witches.

From the intense season opener, when the trio battles an old foe who attempts to render then powerless, to the suspense-filled, and at times very humorous season finale, these beauitiful heroines will have you wish for more. Their foes are stronger, Their powers are growing, and the suypernatural has even more unique ways of disrupting their drama-filled personal lives just when to het it together. Each exciting episode of Charmed: The Complete Second Season continues to work magic that made this critically acclaimed audiencefavorite a force to be reckoned with.

Animal Pragmatism
When Phoebe's friends use a book of spells to turn animals into men, Phoebe's attempt to reverse the spell goes horribly wrong.

My Thoughts:
A good episode. I liked how they handled Valentine's Day in this one. The guy that played the pig turned human did put me off a little on how it acted... but I shouldn't complain... as I honestly can't think of a better way to do it. But over all I enjoyed the episode.

Carpe Demon
An ex-demon professor candidate for Magic School causes a media frenzy when he falls under a spell that makes him believe that he is Robin Hood and that Phoebe is Maid Marian.

My Thoughts:
A decent episode... but not a favorite. Valentines Day isn't very obvious in this one... only mentioned in a couple places. I never cared too much for the character of Drake that was introduced in this episode. And the whole Robin Hood thing in this episode... while entertaining the first time you see it. It really don't hold up too well for multiple viewings.

Plot:

My Thoughts:
This is a movie that I just watched on Starz On-Demand. I wanted to watch this one because I been a fan of Kristen Bell since her Veronica Mars days. I enjoyed this one... but I definitely seen better Romantic Comedies. It is a cute idea.. I just think it could have been handled a bit better. Kristen Bell was great in this... and I like that they had Danny DeVito as one of the coin owners. Definitely worth a watch... but don't go in expecting too much.

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever seen this movie. This is mainly because I do not care much for  Hugh Grant. The guy just bugs me for some reason. But I do like Julia Roberts so I did look a bit forward to it when someone gave me a copy a few months back. I feel this one had a bit of a slow start for me... it took a little bit to get into the story. But once I did... I was completely drawn in. And I found that I enjoyed the movie very much. I found that I still didn't like Hugh Grant. I thought Julia Roberts was fabulous in it. And I found the roommate of Hugh Grant's character to be hilariously idiotic. The movie has some great funny scenes in it...  I really enjoyed the part of the movie where William's family first meets Anna Scott. As well as some touching moments... I especially liked how the movie ended... while you knew how it would end... the way in which they did it was excellent. Over-all this movie is definitely worth seeing... I can see myself watching this movie again... despite my dislike for Hugh Grant.

Plot:
A spirited romantic comedy, Ghost Town is the story of Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais), a cranky Manhattan dentist who develops the unwelcome ability to see dead people. Really annoying dead people. My Thoughts:
This one I was looking forward to checking out since it was given to me. I pretty much like anything that has to do with the supernatural. But this one started out a bit slow for me and I worried I wasn't going to be able to get into it. What with the main character being so unlikeable. But as the character grew a bit... the movie itself grew a bit on me. By about two-thirds of the way in I was pretty hooked. Though there is definitely many more romantic comedies I would prefer over this one. But I can see myself watching this one again every now and then.

Eccentricity defines daily life in Rome, Wisconsin, where the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz is murdered, a student brings a severed hand to school for show-and-tell, and a woman runs over her husband with a steamroller pleading "not guilty by reason of menopause". Sheriff Jimmy Brock has seen it all. Indeed, behind the tidy picket fences of this quirky little town lie all the same problems and prejudices found in the big city, except in a small town everyone seems to know everyone else's business -- or thinks they do!

Episode Watched:
BE MY VALENTINE
Max gets more than she bargained for when she goes undercover to help catch Cupid, a serial killer who murders women he meets through the personals.

My Thoughts:
While still a little on the preachy side (as this entire series was)... this one isn't quite as bad as most on that. And it has a very good and interesting mystery story of the serial killer. Definitely one of the better episodes of the season.

I saw the promo (the network seems to want this to be a big hit), but I just can't understand what is funny with the fact that no jobs are available anymore in the factory because they are no factories anymore, since they were moved in third world countries. A couple of weeks ago I've seen a documentary about Detroit and that was sure a depressing hour... Yeah it's funny that the jobs are now in China, India, Mexico,...

Looks like a mixture of The Office with Indian culture shock. Could be interesting. I may have to check it out. I also see that there a movie (romantic comedy) with a similar premise coming out on DVD (UK).

I can watch horror...I've managed several in October the last few years.  However, I don't watch as many in a day as Pete does.  If I did, I might get burned out on it.  And some of what I watch at that time is more...well..silly stuff too.

As long it isn't Hollywood stuff I can watch anything... But the only time I got burn doing a marathon was 2 years ago when I've watched only non-budget horror in the october one. It felt more like a chore than anything else with maybe 5 passable films in the lot and two boxset I've never touch again with no envy to ever put one of those films in my dvd reader for the rest of my life.

I enjoy Romance/Romantic Comedy movies every once in a while but they are not my favorite genre. I could never do that genre as a marathon. Of course I couldn't do one of horror either.
