IMDb | Wikipedia

(United States)
Length:220 min.
Video:Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround
Subtitles:

Plot:
England 1768-1815. A golden age of wealth, power and discovery though not for Edmund Blackadder Esq. In a situation that can rightly be seen as something of a slump in the fortunes of the previously aristocratic Blackadder family, Edmund is now butler and gentleman's gentleman to the "mini-brained" Prince Regent.

Black Adder
Series 3.06 Duel and Duality
Writer: Richard Curtis (Writer), Ben Elton (Writer)
Director: Mandie Fletcher
Cast: Rowan Atkinson (Edmund Blackadder, butler to the Prince), Tony Robinson (Baldrick, a dogsbody), Hugh Laurie (The Prince Regent, their master), Helen Atkinson-Wood (Mrs. Miggins, a coffee shoppekeeper), Stephen Fry (The Duke of Wellington, a famous soldier), Gertan Klauber (King George III, a mad Monarch)

I always liked the third series. And it has a good final episode. The one which has a good outcome for Blackadder himself.

Plot:
The Western Front 1917: There's disorder in the ranks when that numb-headed ninny, Captain Blackadder, stumbles onto the battlefields of WWI and discovers that people are trying to kill him. The British may be able to defeat the Germans, but it's unlikely they'll ever survive a comic assault by Blackadder.

The fourth and last series of Blackadder is also good. Although I like the second and third better. But this series has a very well done ending. Probably the best of all series.

This is a series, I enjoyed somewhat. But I can see why it was cancelled after only one season. Sadly it ended with nothing really resolved.

Plot:
As they continue their studies into human society, our four fairies learn about the meaning behind holidays like New Year's and Valentine's Day. They're also schooled on the all-important subject of sports. With this much knowledge and perseverance they should definitely be able to become human! But with a strange education like this - reading, writing and 'rithmatic doesn't seem to be part of their curriculum - what sort of humans will they turn out to be?

Director: Yoshiaki Iwasaki
Cast: Nana Mizuki (Kururu), Kaori Nazuka (Chiriri), Yui Horie (Sarara), Ai Nonaka (Hororo), Kisho Taniyama (Sensei San), Haruko Momoi (Tama Chan), Yugo Takahashi (Announcement on the Train), Keiji Okuda (Old Man on the Train), Megumi Nasu (Student), Asami Imai (Fossil Excavation Club Leader), Makiko Ohmoto (Baseball Club Manager), Chie Nakamura (Scout), Ken Takeuchi (Fan A), Yukimasa Obi (Fan B), , Mia Bradly (Chiriri), Jennifer Sekiguchi (Hororo), Mari Daniel (Kururu), Vicky Green (Sarara), Yuri Lowenthal (Sensei-san), Riva West (Tama-chan), Amie Hill (Student), Amie Hill (Baseball Club Manager), Amie Hill (Talent Scout), Sabrina Weisz (Fossil Excavation Club Leader)

The first twelve episodes was teaching the four bottle fairies about Japanese customs. One for each month. This last episode has the bottle fairies being transformed into a human girl with the character traits of all four. A nice episode, but they could have done more with the idea.

[tom]5060000500226.4f.jpg[/tom]      The Brittas Empire: Series Seven (1996/United Kingdom)
IMDb | Wikipedia

(United Kingdom)
Length:232 min.
Video:Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 1
Subtitles:English

Plot:
Gordon Brittas goes from strength to strength. Despite his failed endeavour, and despite the endeavours of both his staff and his wife to depose him, Whitbury Leisure Centre continues to thrive.

Brittas continues to dream up new schemes to promote and improve the centre including a bungee jump, sequential staff reviews and computerisation - all with the usual Brittas diplomacy, aplomb and mayhem. Julie, heavily pregnant, embraces the bungee jump whereas Tim tries everything he can to avoid it at all costs. Meanwhile Colin has several tons of elephant manure delivered in a bid to find his engagement ring, lost at the zoo. The ring holds the key to his future happiness with Mrs Harcourt.

Julie is enjoying armed police protection and the constant body searches begin to irritate Brittas; Helen however does not share this irritation particularly as a certain PC Edwards is not such a bad looking chap! Helen is studying to be a therapy counsellor and needs to understand the benefits of both giving...and receiving! Maybe the body searches aren't such a bad thing after all.

Finally, the goings on at Whitbury bring about the attentions of Roger Ferguson, Investigative Journalist. Brittas believes this to be a serious documentary, begins coaching his staff in television presentation techniques and recruits a good looking male model as a stand in for Colin! Colin's rat takes a swim in the pool and there follows a strange outbreak of Bobula fever. Will Whitbury survive?

Director:
Cast: Michael Burns (Colin), Judy Flynn (Julie), Chris Barrie (Brittas), Harriet Thorpe (Carole), Tim Marriott (Gavin), Pippa Haywood (Helen), Jill Greenacre (Linda), Russell Porter (Tim), Stephen Churchett (Councillor Druggett)

An average episode which brings some closure to one of the final storylines. But I am not sure about the ending. On the one hand it is fitting, but on the other hand I don't like when

Plot:
As the seventh, and final season begins, Buffy the Vampire Slayer takes a surpprising and typically innovative turn with the re-opening of the High School (famously obliterated at the end of the third season). This startling development will foretell new challenges and threats, which promise that the battle agains evil is far from over.

And so the fight continues...

A series finale I really enjoyed. Even though it's really a cop out in how they defeat this unbeatable villain. But it provided some really cool scenes (before and after).

Die Camper
Season 9.13 Winterzauber

I only ever saw the first season of this series and stopped watching it in the beginning of the second season when the whole cast was replaced which really bothered me. I bought this DVD set with all nine seasons, because it is the only way to get the first season on DVD. And as the set cost me only as much as usually a single season sells, it was a good deal.
I decided to watch the final episode for this marathon even though I didn't watch the rest. This is a series, where you can watch any episode and not having missed anything. And as I doubt I will watch all the nine seasons any time soon.
The final episode is just an average episode. Not hinting in any way that this is the end of the series. It is nice enough to watch, but nothing special.

He's righteous. He's heroic. He's The Cape.

Vince Faraday (David Lyons, E.R.) is an honest cop on a corrupt police force. When he's framed for murder and presumed dead, he finds that he must go into hiding - leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, Life on Mars), and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, Flash Forward). Determined to battle the criminals who now control his hometown, Vince takes the law into his own hands and becomes The Cape-his son's favorite comic book superhero. Featuring an incredible supporting cast, including James Frain (The Tudors), Keith David (Death at a Funeral), Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Dorian Missick (The Manchurian Candidate), Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Vinnie Jones (Snatch), it's the action-packed series that has critics raving, "'The Cape' is cloaked in awesome." (OK! Magazine)

A boring series and a rather boring last episode. No wonder, that it was cancelled so soon. Also this episode (even if the name suggests it) doesn't really resolve the series.

A good episode. Seems like they already knew that they were cancelled when producing the episode, or they really just like to make fun of themselves. This episode jokes that the series is unsuccessful because it is not like the movie. So this episode is more like the movie, just with some crazy stuff going on outside of the store.

A great Columbo episode. One of my favorites. I chose to watch this episode for this marathon, because it was the last episode, when Columbo was still a TV series. What followed were TV movies. And as I have seen the last TV movie not long ago, I wanted to go further back in the series.

Plot:
For fallen star Valerie Cherish - former B-list sitcom actress desperate to revive her career - no proce is too high to pay for clinging to the television spotlight. Valerie agrees to be the subject of an intrusive reality television show, with cameras following her every move as she lands the part of "Aunt Sassy" in a tedious new sitcom, Room and Bored.

Lisa Kudrow stars in this uncomfortably funny and insightfully biting comedy series from writer Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City).
In the spirit of reality television, there seems to be no end to the humiliating circumstances Valerie Cherish will endure, all in the name of fame.

As a conclusion to this series it works well. Overall I am not a big fan of this series. But as a parody of celebrity reality television shows it is well made.
