I have never been able to figure out how to post covers/upcs directly from this site.

Can someone please tell me how to do this. Simple directions and an example would be most appreciated.

I know it can be done with a little set-up of Tom's plugin Trade Poster. Other then that I am not sure.

I have that installed somewhere - I tried to upload it and it said I already have it - but I don't know how to use it.

Tom can correct me if I am wrong... but I seem to be mistaken... it can't pull the UPC number as one of the options.  :(

I could be wrong though... can't find that text file with all the codes.

Sorry I can't help as I use the whatyougot plugin who take the image directly from my website... I have no clue how the trading poster plugin works, I got a bunch of line when I test it but no image...

Tom will certainly be able to tell you how it works when he'll be here.

When you post a reply, directly above and to the right of the smilies, there are DVDs, Blu-ray and a You Tube button. When you touch them they say things like "Add image and link from UPC". Can those do what I want? If so, how do they work?

Achim

Those links in the area above the smileys basically require phpdvdprofiler, if I remember correctly.

Invelos images could be linked using a URL like this:
http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/78/786936826623f.jpg

It seems that the first two digits of the UPC are used for a subfolder. So, if you have a UPC 12345-67890 then you could use the image link as follows:
(img)http://www.invelos.com/mpimages/<first two digits of UPC>/<UPC>f.jpg(/img)
with these [] instead of thsese ()

Or my real life example from above:

(can be seen of you quote my post)

I hope I explained that in an understandable way...

When you have my plugin installed, then there is an option "Image Tag" in menu "Collection->Flagged". It will copy the complete code needed for this forum into the clipboard.

I think maybe I had gotten confused. Do you just want to post a picture of the cover? Or do you want a picture of the cover plus the UPC number posted with it? I was under the impression you wanted the UPC number posted with it. If not it is very easy with Tom's plug-in... just flag all you want... push a button and then paste into your post.

If you want other stuff posted with the image like titie, UPC number, overview... what have you. Then it can usually be done with a little quick code writing. But not sure the UPC number (What I thought you wanted in your post) is one of the things you can add. But as I said... I can't find the text file with the codes... so not sure about that.

I just want to post a picture once in a while if there's a DVD I want to recommend.

Achim's answer is the easiest (I think!). I'll bookmark this and try it next time.

I don't know how to do the clip board thing.

I mentioned the UPC because that's what it said when I touched those DVD icons.

Thank you for the tips.

If you have Tom's pluggin already installed... it is extremely simple.

You will have some toolbar buttons that look like this...

You would have the last one... that has Cus on it (that is a custom one)

All you have to do is flag the films you want to recommend... and then you click the icon that looks like a picture in a frame.

Then all you do is go to your post and click paste where you want the images.

My computer says I have Tom's plugin installed but I do not see those buttons anywhere.

I can't even find where the plugin is - when I go to All Programs it is not there.

When I go to "view plugins" Tom's isn't listed there. But, if I try to install it my computer says it's already installed.

addicted2dvd

OK... that is odd.

This message is confusing (and I cannot change it). The setup checks if Profiler is running. If yes, it will bring an error. You have to close Profiler.
It shouldn't matter if it is already installed. If you run the setup again, if it is already installed, it will just overwrite the existing installation.
