I cannot make sure now if the Oscars will be broadcast live, but if yes, maybe I'll be dropping in, maybe just not staying till the end...
Usually Pro 7 broadcasts the Oscars live with a recap on the next day

Danke!

I guess watching it live may have the advantage that there will be less German voice-over(?). I haven't watched the Oscars in Germany for quite some years and could imagine that at least during the re-run they add some explanatory comments with a team of commentators...? On the other hand, live would mean I'd have to go to bed around 6am; my parents will think I am nuts.

I might pop in. I usually watch the broadcast if I can get out of work the next day! A lot depends on who is broadcasting it in the UK though. If it's Sky, I'm stuffed!

I think you're sage and onioned, mate.

There have been a few adverts for the awards on the $ky movie channels.

e.g. if I were to travel from here to L.A. tomorrow morning at 6am my time, I would arrive in L.A. at 6pm my time. After this long flight I would want to got to bed 4 or 5 hours later, i.e. 10/11pm my time. But 10/11pm my time is 11am/12pm Los Angeles time.

Bugger. I'm on Virgin and since they fell out it looks like I'm out of luck. Unless I subscribe for a month, which I've done before, but I'm likely to get a numpty who'll try and sign me up for a year...
