I recorded this last night... and watched first thing early this morning. And wouldn't you know it... I forgot to add time where it always goes over... so I missed everything from Best Actor on. So I need to see who won...

Jeff Bridges
Sandra Bullock
The Hurt Locker

Oh and you would have missed Best Director as well. It was Katherine Bigelow for The Hurt Locker. First female to win the award.  Grin

AFAIK was Sandra Bullock the first person to win the Razzie and the Oscar in the same year...

The best part, and what makes me like her so much, is she showed up to accept both awards. I read that she had to rearrange a lot of things to make it to the Razzie awards - gotta love it.

I have been running an Oscar contest every year though this was the first year I couldn.'t afford to give prizes...but I still had 19 people taking part (including myself).  I missed who won for costume design and then figured to heck with it...I'd find out today who all won and finish marking them off then.  I still need to do that.  I was a bit surprised Sandra Bullock won...I didn't think she had that much of a chance (even she had said she wouldn't win) but I do like her so I'm happy for her.  (I had picked Meryl Streep...but Meryl has enough awards already.)

I am surprised that Bullock won too Roger. From just the trailers I have seen of The Blind Side it looks a bit like a daytime TV hallmark type movies. I never expected from the previews etc that it would do this well. But as I said I haven't seen it yet, maybe when I watch the film it will surprise me.

I posted the video of her Razzie acceptance on the previous page... http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,5930.msg105704.html#msg105704

I saw The Blind Side..I thought it was a good movie and Sandra did a really good job in it.  I'm glad she won...though I would have been happy if Meryl won for Jule & Julia too.

I used to watch it every year, if scheduling matched. in the last few years though it was made harder, due to the time difference; I would often get the winners spoiled which would then make watching the show rather pointless (it is shown here with a delay of eight hours or so), lack of actual surprises aside.

Caught the last three on TV during a recap on Monday evening and was happy to see that The Hurt Locker to the top 2. I like Avatar, but it is not Oscar material.
